Chapter 12

"Oh umm, thanks, but can we keep this between the two of us? At least until I figured out who I am?"

"Of course!" he replied with a cheerful tone, "just remember if you need someone, I'm here."

The two of you continued with the chore trying to finish it off as quickly as possible since if you finished early you could spend the rest of the day relaxing and goofing off. Maybe go to the hot spring with the lesbian couple and Annie. After all the weather has been great so far.

"They arrived much sooner than what I had expected!" freckled Jesus pointed out of nowhere while looking into the distance.

"Who?"

"You know, this morning. Shadis stated that the commanders of each branch along with some squad leaders were coming to check out cadets. They apparently do it every once in a while at random. I feel a bit nervous actually-"

"My dad is coming?" you squeaked while running next to the boy trying to see the figures of all the adults arriving at the area with horses. Marco only offered a confused expression before looking back to the men and women who arrived at the stables.

There was Pyxis with the two soldiers who always followed him, you actually didn't know their names but it was a man and a woman.

The tall man known as Nile arrived with two pigs.

Finally, Erwin who came with Miche, and your big brother.

Freckles gave a nervous salute to the commander while you simply offered a 'yo'. You were already a bit familiar with them, seeing as how your father would take you to have tea with them. Although obviously, that was a very rare occasion, usually when cadets are about to graduate. Pyxis is quite an eccentric man while Nile was more serious like Erwin.

"Salute, we're going to join them soon," Marco whispered towards you, although you simply shrugged not caring.

"You both are the soldier who will be taking care of our horses?" As Nile while jumping off his horse.

"Th-That's correct sir!"

"Woah, calm down Marco. They're mainly here to see those who are close to graduating, at least usually." You stated a bit bluntly while grabbing the reins of his horse along with another horse. The MP simply nodded. "Usually a day or two," you added while guiding the MP's horses inside the stables. Pyxis and the other garrison handed over their horses to Marco, who was rather nervous at the fact that there were superiors within feet of him.

"Chillax bro, no need to freak out. Let's just take the horses here and free them of their saddles."

"Right!"

"Bruh,"

"(Y/n), I trust that you will take good care of my horse?" said the oldest man as he took a bit of a sip of the flask that was hidden in his pocket. Of course, he didn't give you time to answer since he was already walking to the main area with his soldiers. The only regiment that remained was the scouting legion.

They stood quietly giving both you and your pal a bit of time to accommodate the horses, which did take some time, whilst talking to each other. Something about a new expedition happening soon.

After spending thirty minutes on removing the saddles of six horses you both finished. It was only then that the scouts greeted you.

"Long time no see," greeted the shortest man while guiding his black stallion towards you.

Taking the reins from his hand you offered him a smile, "good to see you too, big brother." For the first time since you met him, you were looking down at him. You were now barely half an inch taller, but damn did it make you feel powerful. "Any big discoveries recently discovered?"
