A Glimmer of Hope

Costumes 

“Tonight is the tribute parade, it is sooo important we have to make you look stunning all tho we don’t need to do much to do that you will have sponsors like that” she beams snapping her fingers .

  “so your gona make me up in some big extravagant costume? “ I ask as she fumbles through a big wardrobe

 “ precisely !” she exclaims as she pulls out a dress covered in different coloured  feathers and gems  I gasp and Skyla smiles

 “I know it was my idea “she says proudly

“its amazing,I love it” I say as I brush my hands across the soft feathers and material

  “ I thought you would,  it took me and Lawrence ages to design ,Marvel  will be wearing a suit made of the same material” she smiles “ now come along its only a matter of hours until the parade”she takes my  hand and leads me over to the podium to get dressed.

 Once I am dressed Skyla does my make up ,first she puts light pick colours on my cheeks  ,my eyes are colored a dark blue which she then puts lighter colours on to make a mosaic of eye shadows across my eyelids after this she paints my lips  the color

Of bright red blood .Blood just the thought makes me think of going into the arena in just a few days! What if I died? What if I never see Devon again? I pull my self out of my daze why are these thoughts only coming to me now why not before I volunteered! No I will not think like that   , I will survive these games I will I repeat in my head until I have been completely transformed into an extravagant work of the capitol.

  "Ta-Da” Skyla beams “well, what do you think "

    I look into the mirror , im stunning my blonde hair curls around my shoulders and I am wearing a strapless sliver glittered dress covered in feathers of multiple colours and gems my arts have designs braceleted on them my make up is truly amazing  and the shoes are heeled open toed shoes the heel covered in silver jewels .

  “Wow “I manage, Skyla laughs

" I take that you approve "she winks " come on we have twenty minutes before the parade lets go so the other tributes can bask in the glory of your outfit"

 I laugh as we leave my prep room and head downstairs.
