The next book is Nick's story. And... You know, I won't tell you who her love interest is... Let's see what the title is, and I suspect that will give you a hint. Okay, maybe less of a hint and more of a "smack you in the face"...

WINTER'S KISS

BLURB

(this blurb is still a work in progress)

Lady Nicola Howerty has never backed down from a challenge, and she's not about to start now.

Being blackmailed into marriage by an old friend. Hiring a private investigator. Kissing said investigator... Okay, it might be a bit much, but she can handle it. Right?

Lord Gabriel Winter has spent his life allowing everyone to assume he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. It's served him well as a spy and later when starting his own private investigations agency. But the years of hiding his true self have worn him down. Change finally comes in the form of Nick Howerty.

SNEAK PEEK

"Are you planning to seduce me?"

Gabriel almost choked on his drink. Turning around he gave Nick a questioning look. "I beg your pardon?"

She raised a dainty shoulder in a shrug. "I've heard that bachelors usually try to seduce young ladies when they bring them into their bedchamber."

Smiling wryly, he set his glass down and raised a sardonic eyebrow. "Well, these are not what I would call normal circumstances."

"So you're not planning to seduce me, then?"

"No."

"Under normal circumstances, would you have?"

He gave her a suspicious look. "Did you want me to?"

Nick grinned widely. "No, I'm just curious."

Running a hand through his hair, he sighed. "No, most definitely not."

"Why not?" she asked, her lower lip pouting now. "Don't you find me attractive?"

If he'd still had his drink, he was certain he would have choked for real at that moment. "You're very attractive," he said slowly. "But I don't seduce innocent, young women."

"Oh, I see." She gave him a long look and then grinned mischievously. "So I have nothing to worry about then."

"No, you're quite safe."

James Grafton, Viscount Gowthorpe, needs a wife. Recently returned to London, he reluctantly seeks out Lady Match, affectionately dubbed so by the ton for her excellent matchmaking skills, only to discover that she's the last person he wants to find him a wife; the woman he abandoned years ago in her moment of need.

Penelope Ward, Lady Mapleton, has a gift for matching the right gentleman and the right lady. A widow after losing the husband she was forced to marry following a scandal a decade ago, she's made a new life for herself. She's content and things are finally going well when she comes face to face with James, bringing back all the hurt and resentment following the scandal in their shared past.

Putting her personal feelings aside, she throws herself into finding him a wife. A task that is made all the more difficult when he realises the only bride he wants is her.
