I didn't realize how hungry I was until I started eating. I was shoveling the food into my mouth, not caring about how I looked. That was until I looked across from me and Gally was making an amused yet disgusted face. I flung a tiny piece of my food at him and he laughed. "It's rude to stare," I said, my mouth still full of food. "And it's rude to talk with your mouth full," he responded, playfully rolling his eyes at me. Newt sat down beside me and I gave him a small smile. "Is it good?" Newt teased, fighting back a laugh. Gally, however, still laughed at me. I was practically done with my food so I picked up the plate and licked all over it just to spite them. I earned an "ewwww" sound from Gally and a chuckle from Newt. "Well I'm glad you're enjoying yourself," he said with a raised eyebrow. I laughed with both of them. I looked over to see Rosa and she was being entertained by Thomas. It warmed my heart to see one of the younger guys spend time with her too. It's important for her to have good times with different people. And Thomas is really sweet when he's not being kind of crazy. "Y/N, look!" Rosa said, running up to me. She had something in her hands, but I couldn't tell what. "What is it, hun?" I asked, paying my attention to the small girl. "Here," she said as she held out her hand. In it was a beautiful necklace. It was just basic string and a rose quartz stone with wire twisted around it, but it was absolutely breathtaking.

"Rosa oh my goodness, where do you get this?" I asked, gently taking the necklace into my hands. She glanced over at Thomas then looked back at me, leaning towards my ear. "Tom made it for you but he told me to say that I made it," Rosa whispered to me with a giggle. I looked over at Thomas, who was just watching Rosa with a content smile. Something about it made me feel so warm inside. I could almost burst into tears of happiness. I engulfed the small girl in a hug. "Thank you, Rosa," I said to her and felt her shake her head on my shoulder. "You should thank, Tom. He's really funny and not scary I promise he won't bite. Oh and he's actually not a sad loser like I thought," she said, trying to sound convincing. It made me laugh just to hear her talk about Thomas in a way that wasn't totally negative. And her calling him Tom really made me happy too. She felt close enough to him to give him a nickname, and I loved that for her.
Once we all settled in for bed, I thought I was the last to fall asleep. I kept tossing and turning and moving around. Newt was sound asleep pretty close to me. Something just didn't feel right, like my mind was trying to subconsciously tell me something is wrong, but I ignored it. "Can't sleep either?" I jumped a little at the sound of Thomas's voice. He moved over to lay down beside me. I turned on my side to look at him. "What's got you up?" he asked me, looking concerned. "I just can't sleep. Something doesn't feel right," I said, looking down and playing with the necklace that Rosa gave me. "Try taking your mind off of that. Think about something else and we can talk about that instead," he suggested, still looking at me. "Well I know that Rosa didn't make this necklace," I stated, looking up at him and raising an eyebrow. His cheeks turned red and he tried to avoid my gaze. I sat up and he did the same, still looking away from me. I moved to hug him. He was a little surprised, but hugged me back tightly with his arms around my waist. "I love it. Thank you," I whispered to him, not moving away from the hug. He felt warm and it helped to calm my mind. "Any time," he said gently in response, rubbing my lower back gently. I pulled out of the hug and he looked at me. His eyes flickered to my lips and we started to lean in, but then I remembered that this wasn't Newt. I pulled myself back quickly, awkwardly clearing my throat. "I think I'm gonna sleep now," I said quickly, avoiding looking at him. "Uh.. yeah... me too," he said, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck and looking down. I laid down with my back turned to him. What is wrong with me? I looked over at Newt one more time and moved closer to him. His breathing was steady and he looked so peaceful. I closed my eyes to fall asleep. My mind was still filled with thoughts about Newt. The more I thought about him, the more I realized: I love him.

I woke up from my sleep to the sound of screams from two different voices. I looked around, everyone else looking just as clueless and terrified as I'm sure I did. "What's going on?!" Brenda yelled, fear lacing her voice. No one knew, so no one answered. And then I realized...
Two people were missing.
"Newt!? Rosa?!" I screamed out as I ran out of the area where we were camped. I ran and looked around but saw no trace of either of them. I heard footsteps running behind me and whipped around, hoping it was at least one of them. It was Thomas. "I- I don't know what happened. They're.. gone..." I could barely gets words out as realization hit me. I started sobbing, falling to the ground, but Thomas caught me in his arms and engulfed me in a hug. "Shhh.. it's okay. They're gonna be okay.." I heard him whisper into my hair as he tried to calm me down. But it wasn't working. I lost Newt again. I lost Rosa after I promised her a family. I didn't know how I knew, but I knew. Someone or something took them.
I have to get them back.
