Personally to friends: Kenta is relaxed and easygoing with his friends and allies. He's always willing to lend a hand, especially if it involves protecting or helping them out of a tough spot. His loyalty to his friends is unwavering; he would do anything for them, even if it meant putting himself in harm's way. Kenta shows care through actions rather than words, quietly watching out for his teammates in the background.
Around those he trusts, Kenta's sarcastic side becomes more playful and less biting. He enjoys poking fun at his friends, engaging in friendly banter, and keeping things lighthearted. Despite his sarcasm, his jokes never come from a place of malice—he uses humor to bond with those he cares about and lighten the mood when necessary.
When his friends are in danger, Kenta becomes fiercely protective. He is willing to throw himself into harm's way for them, often acting on instinct and putting their safety above his own. His protective nature stems from a deep sense of responsibility for those he considers part of his inner circle, and his selflessness shines through when they need him most.

Personality to those he dislikes: Kenta's demeanor shifts drastically when dealing with people he dislikes. His sarcastic wit becomes much harsher, and he can be brutally honest or cut with his words. He has little patience for arrogance or bullying, especially when directed toward vulnerable individuals like the Faunus. His coldness is a barrier, keeping those he finds insufferable at arm's length.
When pushed far enough, Kenta's coldness takes on a slightly sadistic tone in rare moments. This side of him only comes out when he's dealing with people who have crossed a moral line (like bullies or oppressors). In these cases, he might take a little too much satisfaction in verbally dismantling or putting them in their place, enjoying the feeling of outsmarting or overpowering them.

Backstory

Kenta Cobalt was born and raised in Atlas alongside his twin brother, Kaieato Cobalt. The two brothers were gifted with extraordinary intellects from a young age, and their fascination with science and technology quickly set them apart from their peers. Growing up in a highly disciplined and militarized society, the Cobalt brothers embraced the structured education of Atlas, excelling in every field they explored, from engineering to physics. As they grew older, their natural curiosity and hunger for knowledge led them to become scientists.

By the time they reached their late teens, Kenta and Kaieato had garnered the attention of the Atlesian Military, specifically General Ironwood, who saw great potential in their talents. Despite their youth, the brothers were brought into a highly classified program within Atlas' scientific division, working directly under Ironwood's orders. The project they were tasked with became known as Project Titan, one of the most secretive and advanced research efforts the kingdom had ever undertaken.

Project Titan centered on studying an anomaly—something beyond normal understanding. The anomaly was believed to be a rupture in space and time, a phenomenon capable of distorting reality, gravity, and even time. The origins of the anomaly were unclear, and only the highest-ranking members of the Atlesian military were even aware of its existence.

The Cobalt brothers were placed at the forefront of this research, studying the anomaly to understand its nature and potentially harness its power for Atlas' military strength. For months, they worked tirelessly in the underground Atlas laboratory, a facility so secret that its location was unknown to the public and even most of Atlas' leadership. The lab was equipped with the most advanced technology available, and the brothers and a small team of elite scientists conducted experiments day and night. Despite the danger, Kenta and Kaieato were thrilled by the challenge. The opportunity to unravel the mysteries of space and time was a once-in-a-lifetime pursuit, and their competitive and intellectual drive pushed them to their limits.

However, they noticed unsettling changes around the anomaly as the research progressed. The fabric of reality within the lab seemed to bend and shift in strange ways—time would move erratically, objects would appear in places they weren't left, and an overwhelming sense of something alien was watching them. With his analytical mind, Kenta began documenting these occurrences meticulously, but despite his rational approach, he couldn't shake the feeling of unease creeping into his thoughts.
