He rushed back to the front of the cave, being extra sure to not make a sound. All of the practice in the woods is paying off, Father.

River grit his teeth as he rolled the rock away from the opening. He paused, listening for a minute. Praying that his parents didn't hear it. Gradually the rock slipped back into place and sealed the cave once more. He looked it over, making sure. Satisfied with the way it looks, River nodded and took off.

The weather was getting colder. River shivered and thought maybe he Father was right about wearing his coverings, but it was too late to go back now. He darted through the forest like a wild beast. Trees didn't stand a chance against his giant hands. In one swipe he toppled some of the younger saplings over, basics bursting the middle in half. He howled and panted like a wolf. He climbed the durable trees and launched himself down, bending the tree into an arch like his relatives in the higher mountains did, and put the tip under boulders.

River swore he urinated on every stray wolf scent, fox scent, and even bear scent he came across. All would know a giant roamed this forest and it was his.

He huffed as he reached the top of the cliff, the waterfall he loved so much shot out below him . He stood with his hand on his hips and let the forest see him as he had come into the world. River looked over his territory, completely naked. His giant cock swinging around like he was an animal. He eyed every tree he could see and puffed his chest out. River let out a mighty roar, making sure all that was sleeping was disturbed by the sound of his call.

His hardened cock demanded his attention.

River was young. He was a dominant male. The alpha. He ruled these territories. He spilled his seed on the ground below him.

The land and all those on it, belonged to him.

His breath came in huffs as he finished. River had never felt so exhilarated.

"I heard your call."

River nearly jumped off the cliff when a foreign male's voice came from behind him. He turned around slowly and faced him.

"This is your territory? I can smell your scent all over the place?"

The clouds cleared and the light of the moon shined down on the new coming male. River puffed his chest out even more, not bothering to go for his loincloth. He wanted the male to see his softening cock.

"Alpha? You are not the alpha. I smell an older male and..." The unwanted visitor took another whiff, "a female."

River looked at the giant, who came down from the mountains. The tribe had cast him out. He could tell this by the giant X burned into the male's chest. He had nothing on, besides a loincloth, the tribe had taken his furs. "What are you doing this way? You have nothing here."

"I know of a family that moved over here. And since no female will have me willingly at the tribe. I will take one no one will miss. Yours."

The threat was all that was needed. River launched himself onto the male.

Life became a blur. So much happened, River couldn't keep up.

One minute, it was him and the intruder wrestling on the ground.

The next thing he knew, his mother and father had appeared out of nowhere.

His Mother had been pushed from the cliff, over the waterfall.

Him and his Father wrestled with the intruder. All three tumbling over the cliff, falling down the waterfall.

River awoke at daybreak. His entire body felt broken and bruised. The water lapped at his feet. Someone had pulled him from the river. He blinked his eyes quickly, hoping to clear his blurry vision.

"River, get up and help me carry your Father."

"Mother? Where's the intruder?"

"Gone. I can't find his body anywhere. Please help me. My arm is broken and I'm bleeding."

River mistakenly turned his head too quickly and felt like his neck snapped. "Mother?"

*******************

He stood up, testing his own body. Nothing felt broken, but he was severely bruised. It could already be seen. River looked to his Father. His leg was bent the wrong way. His arm was limp beside his body and he just moaned with pain. "Father!" River rushed over to his side.

He looked to his Mother. She was just as bruised as he was. Her arm looked awful and bent in the wrong places. His parents had rushed from their home, in just their loincloths. Blood came from between her thighs and dripped onto the ground. Staining the soil.

Together they carried the giant male all the way home. His Mother sat down and cried. She set her bones and his Father's, back the best she could.

River eyed the pool of blood that came from under his Mother as she sat beside his Father, weeping over him. He had taken in so much water, his lungs didn't sound right. "Mother, it is my fault. All of it is my fault."

His Mother didn't look up to him. River watched his Father take another shallow breath. "You're right, River. You are to blame for all of this." His father moved his arm the best he could. It flopped over the side of the bed and his fingertips landed in the blood coming from his mate. "Your recklessness killed us all. Ancestors already call my name. Your mother is bleeding out and has already lost your sibling. She will pass soon behind me."

River eyed the bundle of furs, his mother had beside her. He dared to not look at what was inside. He watched his parents comfort each other.

His father's breathing got worse as the night went on.

************

His mother never got up from where she kneeled under his Father's arm.

"River." His mother called him weakly.

"Mother?" He crawled closer to her, eyeing his Father. Death was so private and mysterious. The male could anger knowing River was so close.

"You're Father has joined your ancestors."

She was right. The male's chest no longer moved. "I'm so sorry Mother." He pushed his face in the constantly paling female. "I am so sorry."

"I would never say this in front of your Father, so I prayed I would outlast him." Slowly she raised her hand to his face. "This is not your fault, River. You are young and no one knew there was another male around. Do not hold this against yourself, my love. Nothing is your fault. Someday, my sweet River, you will be happy again."

"Love Mother."

"Love River."

The graves were in a nice little clearing by the river. He had stomped the ground over and over. He walked the circle again and again. The trail was worn deep in the ground and soon the mounds laid flat. You couldn't tell anything had been buried unless you dug down ten feet or more.

He would occasionally come and sit where he had buried his mother, father and sibling. That's what River was doing when he found his Fawn.

He was going to sit with his family and speak to the sky.

River was headed that way to seek comfort and comfort he found. He glanced over to the sleeping female tucked tightly against his side.

Sent to him from the ancestors. It was too great to be a coincidence.

He had been punished long enough.

His mother had sent Azzalea to love him. The frail female had brought him so much happiness he could hardly stand it.

"I will always love you my Fawn." River kissed the top of her sleeping head. "Always."
