There had been no trial for Sirius Black. Bellatrix Lestrange was tried and found guilty of the torture of the Longbottoms. None of the Blacks, however, were surprised.

The Boy Who Lived, was sent away to 4 Privet Drive to live with his aunt and uncle.

Cassiopeia Victoria Black's future was decided by many people. Remus Lupin, declined the offer to care for her, in the belief that she would turn into her father. Andromeda and Ted Tonks, though feeling horrible for the child, also declined due to being preoccupied with raising their daughter, Nymphadora.

The child was in the hands of Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy.

In the end, Narcissa had persuaded Lucius to take in the child. After all, Narcissa had always loved children.

The girl was given a room in Malfoy Manor and accepted into the family. She was told to address Lucius and Narcissa as mother and father.
