------

I wake up around 9 am Saturday morning. My hangover isn't nearly as bad as it was after this party last year, which I'm grateful for.

The dormitory is empty except for Penny, who's still sleeping in her bed. It's not like her to sleep in, but she stayed out later than I did last night, so I just leave her be.

I've got a bit of a headache, so I decide to take a hot shower in the prefect's bathroom.

You won't believe who I run into on the way there.

"Jesus, why do we have such similar showering schedules," I grin, seeing Oliver Wood walking towards the bathroom, shower bag in hand.

"You just want to see me naked, Parker," he shakes his head.

"As if!" I punch him in the arm.

He shakes his head and we continue walking in silence. He clears his throat, "Percy was still asleep when I left. Thought that someone was impersonating him."

"Yes, Penny was as well."

"Oh, well that makes sense, then," he laughs.

"Percy told you all the juicy details, did he?"

"No- I haven't spoken to either of them since the party."

"Yeah, me neither," I nod. It's a bit depressing that Penny doesn't talk to me as much anymore after getting a boyfriend.

Me and Oliver get to the bathroom and go into our separate shower stalls.

As I'm rinsing my hair, I hear Oliver humming a tune.

"Are you singing Come on Eileen?" I ask.

"What?"

"The song from last night," I laugh.

"Merlin, Laurie, just let a guy shower in peace."

"You sing in the shower?"

"That's frankly none of your business."

"Toora loora toora loo rye aye," I sing, very badly and obnoxiously.

"Are those the words?"

"Imagine not knowing the words to Come on Eileen."

"Can we wait to talk until we're done showering?"

"Well, we're talking now so if we stop it'd just be really awkward."

"It's already really awkward."

"Really? Why's it awkward, Wood? I don't feel awkward."

He mumbles something before going silent and I suppress a laugh.

I turn off my water once I'm done and grab my towel, drying off and putting my clothes on.

Wood finishes his shower as I'm standing in front of the mirror, putting my wet hair into a braid.

"Where's your shirt?" I ask, glancing back at him.

He points to his bag on the marble bench.

"You had your pants within reach but not your shirt?" I laugh.

"What, you don't like it?" he asks, slipping his shirt over his head.

"Oh my God-" I laugh, shaking my head. He grins and gets a comb, parting his hair.

"How do you do that?" he asks, pointing to my quick moving fingers.

"It's quite easy," I say, finishing off the braid and tying off the end.

"When are your quidditch tryouts?" he asks me.

"Monday. Are you having tryouts this year?"

"Nah; all our positions are full."

I nod, "We just need another beater."

"Those aren't too hard to find," he nods.

We reach the point where we'll have to go our separate ways. "Alright, Wood, see you later."

"Yeah, bye, Laurie," he waves at me and walks the opposite way down the corridor.

Penny is just starting to wake up when I walk in our dormitory.

"Good morning, sleeping beauty," I grin, shoving my shower bag back into my trunk.

"What time is it?" She yawns and rubs her eyes.

"Nearly 10:30."

"You're joking!" she bolts up, running her fingers through her hair.

"It's not that late," I laugh.

"If I wake up after you, it's late," she says.

"Ouch," I grin, sitting down on my bed.

"Where've you been off to?" she asks.

"Just took a shower."

"Oh, that sounds lovely right now."

"How was your romantic night with Percy?" I grin.

She blushes and looks away. "He's very lovely."

"Jesus, you're smitten," I grin.

"Oh, shut up," she laughs.

"Wanna go get some breakfast?"

"Yeah; I'm starving," she gets up and pulls on her jumper.

We see Ambria and Candace sitting at the Hufflepuff table, finishing up the last of their breakfasts.

"Morning, you lot," Candace says, taking a big gulp of pumpkin juice.

"Guess who only just barely woke up," I say, sitting down at the table.

"Was it you?" Ambria asks.

"No! It was Penny!"

"Really?"

"Penelope Clearwater, you woke up later than Laurie!?"

"I was out late last night!" Her face starts to flush.

"Oh yes, with Percy?" Ambria asks.

"Laurie, have you got the list of people trying out for quidditch yet?" Penny reaches for a slice of toast.

"Way to change the subject," I laugh. "And nope, I bet Flitwick will come and give it to me in a minute and scold us for not sitting with the Ravenclaws."

That's exactly what happens- five minutes later, I've got the list in hand and I'm reading through it.

"There's only a handful of second and third years on here," I say, skimming through the list of names.

"Hopefully one of them is good," Candace says, mouth full of scrambled egg.

I nod. "We've got to beat Slytherin this year. We've just got to."
