The feeling of being alone in the dark can be comforting and scary. We never know what's lurking in the dark, maybe nothing. Maybe we're the monsters lurking in the dark.

After closing my eyes, it felt like I woke up several seconds later, but in a very dark place. I'm starting to think this is the afterlife, just nothing waiting for us on the other side. It's comforting in a way.

As I look around, I just see a plain white door behind me from far away, but it's getting closer. I can't decide if I should run away or walk towards it. I stand there, waiting to see what happens if I don't move.

'This is why I shouldn't be in scary movies.' I thought to myself.

As it approaches, it stops right in front of me. I don't know what to do.

'Should I open it? What if there's something waiting for me on the other side? What if there's nothing?'

I decide to open the door. Turning the handle, I slowly push the door open little by little. The brightest light has been shown inside, I squint my eyes and push the door wide open, not caring if I lose my eyesight. As it opens wide, there's nothing but a bright white light. I step closer to the doorframe and stop dead in my tracks when I see someone I didn't expect. Far away, I could see him perfectly.

'Why is he here?'
I watch as he waves at me with a smile. He turns and walks away.
"Wait!" I yell. My voice is like an echo. He doesn't stop or turn around.

Wanting to follow him, I step through the door but I'm met with a flash in my eyes. I try to focus on him, but the light is getting brighter.
"Wait!"
He turns around but I can barely see him. He speaks but I don't know what he's saying. I try my best to listen but he's too far away. After a while, he smiles and...

I gasp and cover my mouth with my hand.
'He...remembers'

He turns around.

He disappeared.

The light got brighter. I cover my eyes with my arms.

"NO!"

I opened my eyes slowly, squinting at the lantern above my head. Once my eyes have been adjusted, I look at my surroundings. I'm laying face up looking at the ceiling in a comfortable bed with black silky sheets on top of me. I see the bookshelf next to me. I'm in Severus's chambers.

I check under the blanket and I realize I'm in a light blue silk tank top with matching shorts. Sleepwear I suppose.

As I'm looking at the ceiling again, I can't help but wonder about what I just saw before actually waking up.

'Why was he there? What did he say? Where did he go?'

In the corner of my eye, a familiar figure slowly approaches, sitting on the edge of the bed next to me.

"Pomfrey?" My voice is raspy, probably from the screaming I did...not too long ago I think.

A gasp is heard from her. I get scared for a bit, wondering if my voice was that scary.

"She's awake! You're awake! My dear, you had us worried us sick!" Pomfrey holds my face with both her hands and kisses my forehead.

"We missed you so much dear." She whispered before standing up. I see Minerva rushing towards us.

"Minerva?" I ask.

"Oh dear! Your awake! My little girl is awake!" She forces my upper body off the bed to hug me. I groan from the pain in my chest.

"Oh I'm sorry dear! Are you alright? Did I hurt you?" She gently places me down on the bed.

"I'm okay. Just having pain in my chest, that's all." I gave her a weak smile.
