Chapter 8

The headmaster said happily.

Kokichi glanced at me with a worried look.
I simply grabbed his hand and squeezed it. He smiled. As I was about to smile back, I noticed Kaito giving us a dark stare. What's with him again? I glared at him and turned arround still holding Kokichi's hand.

- They will pass tommorow, they will pick one you guys to bring home! So make sure you look good! Wear ur best outfit!

Then the headmaster bowed and left and so everyone started leaving the chapel, that was actually pretty huge.  Adoption? What type of person would wanna adopt a 16 year old? Anyways, I just don't want to get adopted I want to stay with Kokichi.

- Wanna go somewhere this afternoon?
Kokichi asked, beaming.

- Hmmm... Sure thing just make sure it's safe.
I anwsered.

- It will be !

Time skip brought to you again

Once again, I found myself being dragged  by Kokichi  arround this huge place. Well, I agreed to go but only because I love- WAIT WHAT?!

Not only it was late and dark , but he just HAD to bring  me outside.It was really hot outside. He even made me climb a fence. He then brought me in a small forest, or was it a forest.He kept running arround like a lost child.
- Are you planning to murder me and throw my body in here Ouma?

- Neeheehee don't be silly Shumai! I would never throw your body in the woods! You're way too special!

- Ah so you're planning to murder me!

He giggled like a child. I chuckled back. He was really cute.

- Don't Worry Shumai! We're almost there!
He said.

We walked arround and suddently he grabbed my hand and pulled me over.

- We're here shumai!

He pointed over to a beautiful lake. It's water was dark blue and you could see the reflection of the beautiful full moon on it. Damn, Kokichi knows some pretty places.He glanced at me and smiled giving me a akward thumbs up. He then took off his shirt and jumped right into the water making it splash everywhere. I stared in confusion as I watched him float on his back in the water.

- D-do you want me to come inside?

-  Don't say it like that Shumai! Jeez just jump right in.

My face turned red. I hesitantly took off my t-shirt as I stared at the water reflection. It didn't look dangerous.

- HAHAHA! Look at you Shumai! Cmon join me! It's not even deep!

I then proceeded to slowly enter the lake, trying to not wet my hair.It wasn't really cold which was good.As soon as I entered the water,Kokichi then gracefully swam my way and started clinging on my neck. I simply wrapped my arms arround him,hugging him.
We stayed like that for a while. I don't know why but I love being arround Kokichi. He then suddently broke the silence.

- Shuichi I brought you here for a reason y'know

His happy expression soon turned into a sad one in no time as he pulled away from the hug.

- What's wrong Ouma?

- First, I need you to tell me something.

He stared at me with a worried expression.

- Do you love me Shuichi? I need a real anwser, i'm serious, this important.

He seemed drop dead serious which caused me to get a little anxious. What was this all about?

Isn't it obvious enough? Is he trying to embarass me?

I got flustered and looked away for a few seconds before looking back at him.

- O-of course I love you Kokichi! I-I also care about you! You're the only person I have right now

He got really flustered and his face turned bright red.

- W-well i'm glad... I love you too... But I have bad news. As much as i'd like to stay with you. I-I...

He stopped talking for a few seconds. He glanced arround and finally turned arround.

- I'm getting adopted tommorow, in other words i'm leaving.

I felt a pinch in my heart. He was leaving? I just met him a week ago but still he couldn't be leaving.

- No... The headmasters told us that they don't know who's getting adopted yet. This must be a mistake Kokichi.

- But I know. They told me, they wanted to adopt me.

A silence took place, a very dark and gloomy silence. That made me very uncomfortable.
I had no words to express how I felt.
I was hopeless.

- But Shuichi, I may have just met you..but I feel like I was born just to meet you. I'd die just to be with you. If I can't be with you then i'd .. rather just depart this life. If you feel the same...let's escape let's run away before tommorow. Let's live together and maybe get married when we grow up.

The smaller male stared at me with a sorrowful look but he looked sincere. I was stunned, I had no idea what he meant by escape.
Did Kokichi want us to escape the orphanage together? I could see tears forming in the corner of his eyes, he wiped them off with his arm immediately, looking away.

- You want to escape this place together?
I asked in all seriousness.

- I-If you want to.. I have some money I saved up ever since I was a child. Everytime they would send me into foster care, i'd steal money from the families.I have food in my backpack... I have everything prepared. I have prepared my escape ever since I was a child. I just needed a will to live and... you just happened to be my motivation.

This was like a stab in the heart. He never seemed that depressed. He always looked happy and cheerful.

- Don't say that Kokichi, you're worth way more than that. Why did they send you into foster care anyways?

- Because when I was a child, my parents were abusive. My father would beat up my mother and my brother, daily. And one day he just happened to beat them to death with a broken wine bottle. Haha... I know that's pretty fucked up.My father commited suicide after that and I found myself in foster care. I was quite a troublesome kid, they would send me from orphanage to orphanage because of that. They sent me into foster care multiple times, but they always ended up rejecting me.

He didn't seem phased by what he had just told me but it definetely shocked me.He went through so much, alone.I had a gloomy expression on my face as I stared at his beautiful lavender eyes.

- Don't feel bad for me Shuichi... Tell me now, do you wanna go with me?

He swam closer to me and gazed in my golden eyes intensly. He was staid, I knew he was wasn't joking. I needed to anwser and I already knew my anwser.

- Yes Kokichi , you're all I got. I'll follow you wherever you go because I trust you and I- I love you.

Tears fell down from his eyes as he got closer to me. He looked me in the eyes and pulled me into a kiss. It was a gentle, soft,tender  kiss. I returned the kiss with no questions.
He then pulled away and whispered to me:

- Let's get outta here now my beloved Saihara-Chan.
