Chapter 6

Lumabas siya ng condo para sana maaliw at madistract ang sarili. She was suffocated at the thought that she might like him.

Gusto niya ito? Ganoon na ba siya karupok? It's been 52 days. Just 52 days, 1 month and 12 days. That fast?

Well who wouldn't?

Dumiretso siya sa mall. Para magliwaliw, she wants to have fun just like she used to before. It's been a long time she pampered herself. One month and twelve days is not a joke for her if she was used to do it before he entered the picture.

Hindi niya alam kung bakit siya dinala ng mga paa sa BitterSweet Cafe.

Baka gusto niyang magkape?

Nah. Just the scene of Hendrix with a woman laughing is enough for her to taste bitterness.

Is she jealous?

Yes.

She likes him?

Yes.

Ginampanan na lamang niya na bibili siya ng kape. Dumiretso siya ng lakad papunta sa counter at mukhang hindi pa siya napapansin ng binata. Medyo malapit lang ang pwesto nito sa kinatatayuan  niya.

"Mr. Benjamin, what kind of woman do you like?" Tanong ng kausap nito. She's probably Ara.

Kumunot ang noo niya. Parte pa bang pag-usapan sa negosyo ang ganoong bagay? May pang-aakit pa talaga sa boses!

"Well, I want an independent one. A woman who wouldn't wanted to lose. Palaban, ganoon." Sagot ng binata.

Her heart thumped fast  on that. Is he talking about her?

"Well, do you like your woman working, like on business?" Tanong pa ni Ara.

Matagal bago nakasagot ang binata.

"Maybe, yes? I can provide what her needs and wants but like what I've just said, I want an independent woman."

A part of her was hurt on what he said. Like duh, she's not working. Umaasa lang siya sa pera na naipon niya dati sa pagmomodel niya at sa pera na pinapadala ng magulang.

"Ma'am, what's your order?"

But she's independent! She never asked for his money or what, except from his gift and the grocery for their food, wala siyang ibang natanggap mula rito.

So she's still independent!

"Ma'am, marami pa pong nakapila, what's your order po?" Tanong ng babae sa counter.

Napakurap siya. Siya na pala ang nasa unahan, hindi lang niya napansin.

Sinabi niya ang napili niya. Ng maasikaso iyon at nakuha niya. Nagbayad siya at nagmamadaling umalis para makauwi.

"HI, how's your day?" Nakangiting bungad sa kanya ni Hendrix ng makauwi ito galing trabaho. He welcomed her with a kiss and her doubts vanished.

"Ahm, you left your phone." Aniya at inabot ang phone dito.

Kinuha naman ng binata iyon.

"You opened it." Tukoy nito sa cellphone nito.

"Yes, I did? Hindi ba pwede?" Kunot-noong tanong niya sa binata.

He sighed. He closed his eyes and pinch the bridge of his nose.

"I don't like it. Privacy."
