Chapter 21

Three and a half year. It's long enough for her to heal herself, to be stronger, to better and to prepare herself how to act in front of him.

She won't waste that three and a half years. Malayo na ang narating niya, at ayaw niyang bumalik uli sa putik na noon ay kinalulugmukan niya.

Her eyes filled with coldness and it reflects her smirk.

"It has just been three years and a half  but it seems you have forgotten about my name. It's Chloe, Mr. Benjamin." Sabi niya sa binata.

There's no bitterness or anger on her voice, to show that she's not affected anymore. She wants to casually treat him but with distant.

Tumiim ang bagang ng binata. His perfectly shaped jaw that she used to trail her lips before looks more mature and define now.

Kung gaano kalaki ang pinagbago niya ay sinasalamin iyon ng binata.

Just by the look of him, he changed a lot. Gone the playful and carefree Hendrix. He looks more mature and serious now.

She felt threatened on that. Kung dati napakadali lang niyang napagplanuhan kung paano barahin ito kung magkikita sila ulit, parang bigla siyang nablanko ngayong tinapatan nito ang awra niya.

They're on the same high level, both won't go down on their own benefits.

It seems like she will be punished if she gets on his way.

Oh, come on, Chloe! You're better than this. Hinding-hindi ka dapat aatras lang!

She faked cough and held her head highed. Tinapatan niya ang lamig ng tingin nito.

"You're on my way, Benjamin." Aniya at binangga ito sa balikat ng lagpasan niya ito.

"This is not the last time you will see me, honey." She heard Hendrix said that she totally ignored.

Surely. They will see each other again but she can't promise she will talk yo him again.

"Miss, okay lang po ba kayo?" Nag-aalalang tanong ni Chester na nasa gilid ng kanyang sasakyan nakatayo. Mukhang hindi ito nakalapit kanina ng nakitang nag-uusap sila ni Hendrix.

"I don't have reason not to be fine, Chester." Sabi niya at sumakay muli sa kotse at agad na nilisan ang lugar na iyon.

Nang lumingon siya sa side mirror ay nakahinga siya ng maluwag ng hindi na niya nakitang sumunod ang black Benj nito. Nakahinga siya ng maluwag.

Brace yourself, Chloe. You won't break down just how like he broke you years ago.

"Chloe, hindi pa ako handang magpakasal."

"I choose to runaway, Chloe. Gulong-gulo na ako. Cali Inc. is my dream---"

"This is my dream, Chloe. Don't be selfish."

"Spare me your childishness right now, Chloe!"

Do you still remember his words, Chloe? It stings, right? Masakit. Putangina, masakit pa rin, kaya gamitin mo ang sakit na 'yan para malimutan mo siya! Para makaganti ka sa kanya!

Her old self is angry at her. Screaming what she should do to keep her sane. To avoid being broken again.

The old Chloe is right. She will use that pain. She will...

Her vision blurry while she was still driving. Pinahid niya ang luha sa mata niya.

She shouldn't be crying. She had forgotten the pain already, she's stronger now. No one can hurt her.

"She's...She's no one, Sir Cali. She mistakenly barged in the room."

She's no one...

"Aarrgh!" She screamed in frustration.

And that's the last thing she remembered before losing her consciousness when her car bumped to an SUV.

"IS she okay? How's my daughter?!"

"Tita, calm down. The doctor said that she just lost her consciousness due to concussion." It was Clea's voice. She heard Clea's voice.

"Who did this to her?" It's her Dad. It was brief question, but you can hear on his voice the danger and anger.

Something in her heart clenched. She missed it, when his Dad shows emotion towards her. It has been years, matagal na rin na naging malamig ang pakikitungo sa kanya ng Daddy niya simula 'nung nagbago siya. When she started to move forward with the fury as her inspiration.

"It was basically not her fault, Tito. Ang SUV mismo ang bumangga sa kanya dahil sa pagkawala ng preno nito." Sagot ni Hellion.

Wait. Why are there so many voices? At masakit rin ang buong katawan niya, especially her heard.

Unti-unti niyang dinilat ang mata. The white celing welcomed her eyes when she opened it. Agad niyang iginala ang tingin. Nakita niya si Hellion na karga si Drix Leo habang nakatayo sa gilid ng sofa kung saan nakaupo doon si Clea. Nakita niya rin ang Mommy at Daddy niya sa isang pang sofa.

"I-i'm awake now." Paos na saad niya na nagpalingon ng mga tao sa loob sa kanya.

"Chloe!"

Agad na lumapit sa kanya ang Mama niya at niyakap siya.

"You got me worried, hija!" Her mother was teary eyed while hugging her. Bakas ang pag-aalala sa mukha nito.

She tried to give her mother a smile.

"I'm fine, Mom."

Dumako ang tingin niya sa ama niya. She's actually hoping for his reaction.

Nang magtama ang paningin nila ay ngumiti siya rito. But her heart broke when her father give him a cold stare and stood up and walk on the way to the door.

She was on the verge on crying when she heard father said.

"It's painful that I'll lost my memories. But it'll be painful to see that I'll be losing my child. Be careful next time."

She really feel ecstatic upon hearing that. Kahit alam niyang galit pa rin ang ama niya sa kanya pero pinaramdam ulit nito kanina 'nung sinabi ng ama ang mga katagang iyon na nag-aalala pa rin ito sa kanya. That her father really loves her.

Hindi niya napigilang mapaluha.  Agad naman iyon na pinahid ng ina. Kahit ang ina niya ay naluluha rin.

"Sshh. Don't cry, galing ka pang aksidente."

She smiled at her Mom. Hindi na rin ito nagtagal dahil kailangan pang painumin ang ama niya ng medication nito.

"Mama." Drix Leo hugged her stomach and look at her while pouting.

"I'm worried." Saad ng bata. She can't help but to smile on her cuteness. She caress his cheeks and slightly pinch it, she can't help it!

"I'm sorry, baby. Mama promished not to make your cuteness worry again." Nakangiting saad niya sa bata. She opened her arms para mayakap siya nito

Niyakap niya ito ng mahigpit saka hinalikan sa noo. She's also careful on her bandage on her forehead.

Tinitigan niya ang bata.

He really looks like Benjamin. No doubt on that.

"Kamukha mo talaga ang Daddy mo!" She giggled gumaan ang pakiramdam niya ng makita ito.

"Thanks, Mama. Daddy is handsome. Right, Daddy?" Nakangiting baling nito sa ama.

Hellion smiled at his son.

"Of course, baby."

And yes, Drix Leo looks like Hellion so much.

Because he's the father.
