Adrien has never been an expert in romance. All his advances on Ladybug as Chat Noir were all straightforward and rather clumsily done, not even knowing if the bug could be overwhelmed by everything he prepares(he is a very dense sunshine boy).

The only form of love that the young boy is familiar with entirely is that of family, tragically, that isn't really felt much in his life nowadays.

His father has been rather distant since the disappearance of his mother. Adrien had thought that he had given him some time to move on, and maybe, even without his mother, they'd still be able to bond.

But unfortunately, his father's grief hung like a persistent cobweb. Although he couldn't understand why, being someone in the same situation as his father, grieving for whatever happened to his mother, Adrien could only convince himself that this will all pass by soon.

After a year of his mother's disappearance, surprisingly, Gabriel obliged to his wishes and let him be in a public school for once. Adrien met wonderful people, he met friends that will most likely stick with him for a lifetime and another person to talk to other than Chloé.

He also had the chance to discover that he loves being a superhero, and that, the black clad hero met the love of his life. The moment the lady in red fought bravely against the villain, Hawkmoth, as he threatened to destroy Paris and struck fear into the civilian's hearts, Adrien knew that he would marry this girl someday.

It wasn't love at first sight. He didn't fall in love with Ladybug the moment he laid his eyes on her. Adrien was simply enjoying the newfound freedom that came knocking on his doorstep.

With newfound confidence as being Chat Noir, the mysterious element he's able to retain as long as he has a mask on his face, he strutted up to Ladybug and woo-ed her as much as he absolutely could. From Shoujo Manga and Anime, Disney Movies and random tips in the internet, he tried to be as romantic as he could. But much to his chagrin, nothing seemed to work.

Chat Noir wasn't disheartened. He kept persisting and persisting, until he found out that the lady of his dreams has set her heart on someone else.

After they were helping New York, Adrien could feel that something in his relationship with Ladybug had changed. With her responsibility as a guardian, the amount of stress and the cautiousness increased almost tenfold.

Chat Noir still has not given up on his affections for Ladybug, but it feels rather wrong when he's with Kagami as Adrien(A/N; this is confirmed. Adrien is with Kagami and Marinette with Luka) Though, he is very thankful for one of his friends, Marinette, that he's able to go to New York with his friends. Without her help, he wouldn't have been able to spend time with them.

"Come to think of it, I- really haven't thanked Marinette for convincing my father to go to New York", Adrien says out loud, laid out on his bed with Plagg as an audience(though Plagg is paying more attention towards his sweet camembert than with Adrien). Adrien turned to face Plagg as he sat up. "Do you have any idea on what to do, Plagg?", he asks the cheese-loving black cat.

Plagg gulped his slice of camembert in one go. "Just give the Princess cheese, I'm sure she'll appreciate it either way! If it's coming from you..", Plagg replies, muttering the last one softly. Adrien didn't hear the last part but didn't question it any further. Hearing Plagg's answer made him frown. Giving Marinette just cheese wouldn't be enough, it wouldn't make her happy at all!

The blonde sighs. "Why did I even ask you for advice...", he says with a deadpanned expression. Plagg shot him back with a look. "Is that supposed to be insulting? Fyi, that advice was very helpful", Plagg says as he went off to get more of the cheese he's fermented in Adrien's sock drawer.
