"Ma! I'm leaving!" Jade shouted about to leave out the front door.
His mom was getting ready for work, "hold on sweetie here!" She ran to him kissing his cheek and handing over a candy bar.
"I got it on my shift last night. I thought of you, you used to always eat these as a little boy." She smiled and he kissed her head.
"Thanks, I'll see you after school."
Jade ran out the door and Jerico (his mother's name) watched from her front door step.
She was surprised by the giant smile on his face along with the redness of his ears. She looked past him and stared at the black car.
There was a young boy leaning on the car and she widened her eyes closing the door slightly. She kept staring at him.
The way Jade so happily ran up to him shocked her even more.
Why are you hanging around with the spawn of those two!
She gasped and shut the door once his piercing eyes met hers.
"Is that your mom?" Youngbae asked Jade turned around and saw his mother peeking from behind the curtains.
"Yeah..let's go." Youngbae hummed still looking at the window as Jade opened the door for him.
"She's pretty. I see where you get your looks from." He smiled and Jade blushed getting in besides him.
"Can I ask you something?" Jade snapped his head to him in a second nodding. "Of course."
Youngbae was quiet for a moment crossing his legs thinking.
"Is your mother a prostitute?" Jade raised his eyebrows. "Uh no? No my moms a nurse." Youngbae looked at him and smiled.
"Okay. I've been mistaken then." He looked away and Jade thought to himself.
She can't be, I saw her attend medical school for all those years. It's not possible, but...Hyung always has a reason for talking or bringing up something.
"Can I ask why you thought that hyung-" "let's stay quiet for this ride yeah? The scenery is so nice over these parts." He stared out the window ignoring jade.
Jade himself huffed and turned to look out the window.
IN SCHOOL....
"Soro Hyung, do you think he has a ulterior motive for asking?" Jade desperately asked his College study buddy who was chewing gum loudly with his huge black platform boots on the table as he wrote in a journal.
