Elias:

I know they say the way to a woman's heart is shoes or whatever, but the way to my fucking heart is food. I don't know why I felt the way I did when Eirene pulled out my beloveds, but it probably had something to do with me not expecting her to even read my text. She looks at me with this weird calculating look before sighing and turning around.

"Fuck," Eirene exclaims suddenly. I'm in the middle of biting my Snicker so I just stare blankly at her, annoyed that she's interrupted my eating.

"Vat?" I ask, my mouth full of food, muffling my voice a little bit.

"We forgot my mattress," She rubs her temples.

"I'm not going back there," I deadpan. Eirene sits down on the floor and pulls out a KitKat. She takes a huge bite, eating half of it in one go. The KitKat is gone before I can even blink, which is saying something. Running her hand through her black, silky hair, Eirene looks up at me.

"And where do you expect me to sleep?"

"On my mattress," I say simply, not really thinking through my words. Her eyes widen and snap to mine. What I just insinuate hits me. "I- I didn't mean- I wasn't really-"

"I'll take the couch," We both blurt at the same time.

"I'll take the mattress," We say simultaneously. Her eyes narrow, zoning in on me. I really don't mind sleeping on the couch, seeing as my couch can lean back. Sometimes I used to just fall asleep on it, choosing not to walk the twenty feet to my room.

"Shit," I say at the same time as her. I close my eyes for a second. Is she doing this on purpose?

"Fuck," We both say. I glare at her at the same time she shoots daggers at me.

"Stop that," Eirene snaps. I shrug and take another bite out of my jerky. Padding over to the kitchen, I grab a glass of milk to go with my chocolate.

"Whatever," I say over my shoulder. There isn't any noise coming from the firing breathing woman, so I turn around to see why she is silent. Eirene's eyes are closed and she is saying something under her breath. I watch in curiosity as her hands unclench and her eyelids open. Eirene's gaze lands on me, and with a huff she sits down on the couch.

"Take the damn mattress," She then closes her eyes and falls asleep.

Now, if I were a kind person I would have let her enjoy a few hours of sleep, but I'm not a kind person. I take the glass of milk and set it down on the counter and then push Eirene off of the couch.

"Bitch, it's only twelve pm. Get your ass up,"

"Why do you care?" She grumbles. I don't answer as she gets up and flings open a suitcase and starts rummaging through it. Eirene pulls out a bunch of different items of clothing and saunters towards the bathroom, casting me a dirty look over her shoulder.

I look down at the clothes I am wearing and wrinkle my nose at the chocolate smeared on my white shirt. I go to the sink and try to clean it. My phone vibrates in my pocket, causing me to jump.

Hello. Serephina texts me.

Hey, Phina. What's up? I reply.

I miss you, Eli. I still have the two kittens with me, and they need a home. I sigh at the message and decide to just call my little sister instead.

"Can you come pick them up soon and then you can take me with you?" Phina asks as soon as she picks up.

"When?"

"I don't know, in a week or two. And I want to visit soon," I smile at her tone. So bossy, my little sister. I imagine her dark eyes and wavy dark hair. She can be a bitch if she doesn't like you. But when she loves, she loves with her entire seven-year-old heart.
