All of the boys respond at once, their answers mixing together. Liam, Harry, Louis, and Niall all reply say that they are single, whereas Zayn states that he is in a relationship.
Ellen follows with a question about what each of the single boys looks for in a girl. Harry replies by naming off a few traits that he likes, which he incidentally sees in Louis (though he doesn’t add that), and then proceeds to say that he looks for a girl like Ellen. The hostess laughs and tells Harry that she would be honoured to go out with him, but she’s already taken. She even makes the joke that Harry could just date Niall, since the Irishman is basically the male version of her, and then points out that her show is probably the best one for that kind of a confession. As she does this, she shares a subtle look with Liam.
The show ends with the boys performing another song. They were supposed to be performing Little Things, but the starting music doesn’t fit the intended song. All but Niall are prepared for this sudden change, but the Irish lad is startled when he hears the opening notes to They Don’t Know About Us.**
“People say we shouldn't be together
Too young to know about forever
But I say that they don't know
What they're talk-talk-talking about”
Liam begins to sing as Harry, Louis, and Zayn move back to give him room. Niall just shrugs and accepts the change, everything seeming normal in his mind.
“'Cause this love is only getting stronger
So I don't wanna wait any longer
I just wanna tell the world that you're mine boy
Oh”
Liam continues singing, even going so far as to change part of the lyrics, which seems to escape Niall’s notice. The blonde-haired boy tilts his head to the side, staring at his boyfriend, completely mesmerized.
“They don't know about the things we do
They don't know about the 'I love you's
But I betcha if they only knew
They would just be jealous of us
They don't know about the 'up all night's
They don't know I've waited all my life
Just to find a love that feels this right
Baby they don't know about
They don't know about us"
Niall joins Liam in belting out the chorus while the other lads sing a quiet harmony. Liam makes eye contact with Niall, keeping it as the latter continues the song on his own before joining in again for the chorus:
“One touch and I was a believer
Every kiss it gets a little sweeter
It's getting better, keeps getting better
All the time boy
They don't know about the things we do
They don't know about the 'I love you's
But I betcha if they only knew
They would just be jealous of us
