Scars fade and time heals
You say
But I just don't have
Enough time
Today
This Numbness fades
And feelings bloom again
Cause time heals everything
You say
If I wait a while
The pain just stays the same
Time heals but times
not on my side
Today
If we both fought
Day after day
For no longer than two drops of rain
Would we still feel exactly the same
Fake smiles cause fatigue
They say
How about a whole new persona
I say
Without it would you
Recognise me anyway
If you really cared
You'd love me the same
If I woke up one day in the rain
And chose to wash it all away
If I went to bed breathing quite sane
Would I wake up and see the insanity
Not just in mine but in yours and theirs too
See it as clear as summers first day
Would I finally look away
From the night sky each dawn
In search of a shooting star
To wish it all away
Would I still drown
In all my thoughts unsaid
Forever trapped away in these
Round-about words and spells
For Someone to pull me away
From all these heavy thoughts in my head
Before I drown in it instead
Would you look down unto me and say
You would still love me the same
If my scars fail to fade in any way
And time does nought
To unchain the feelings from within
Would you still love me the same?
