"Pfffft," He said, trying to act like she was wrong. "I have no idea what you mean. Honestly, I don't even speak that much." Thomas tried to justify himself as El laughed. "How are you anyways?"

"I'm fine. Why do you ask?" She said, furrowing her brows slightly at the question. It was just an ordinary question but it seems weird to be asked. She went to twiddle with

"I get the feeling that people don't ask you that very often."  He told her, giving the girl a pointed look.

"That's because they get the same response every time." Eleanor retorted, causing him to shake his head. He understood exactly what she meant though. The two kept the pleasant silence until McGonagall called them as the stars began to twinkle above them. The group of them took their time walking their way back to the castle. Talking, laughing, joking: like normal teenagers, if you could believe that.

The groups divided as soon as they entered the castle. Wishing farewell to the Hufflepuffs, the Slytherins, and then the Ravenclaws. The rest of them climbed the rest of the stairs together to the Gryffindor common room, only to be greeted by more silence. They bid their goodbyes and departed to their dorm rooms for now. Where you could still hear the boisterous voices of the boys, the girls exchanged whispers as they bounded up the stairs.

As the door swung open, Mary froze as the other three bumped into her. There were murmurs of 'what is wrong?' and a  chorus of 'Mary?' followed afterwards. They all tried to sneak a peak but it was no use. The girl turned around with a look of distress, her eyes instantly landing on Lily's. She was the most likely to know what to do.

"Mary?" Eleanor questioned, pushing past the girl before she could object. Her face dropped at the sight of the room. Boxes had been tossed, clothes spewed everywhere, the drapes clung on by threads, her trunk was overturned, and the drawers had snapped apart: it was only her thing though. They were looking for something. She headed over to the stuff,  avoiding Lily's warnings to stop. At that moment, she wasn't fussed if it was cursed or not. There was only one thing that she had on her mind as she climbed over the mess.

Her hands raked through the mess, trying to find the one thing she cared about. The smash photos didn't matter to her nor did her tarnished clothes but as she dug through her possessions, she couldn't find it. The one time that she left the piece, it was gone. And to think that the day was going well like it was normal or she could be normal. Ridiculous. She rummaged through the mess on her nightstand where she had left it as the last bit of hope left her body.

"No, no, no." El whispered, feeling deflated. It was gone. A tear welled in her eye as she sat still, not bothering to move now. Her mother's locket had no real value, especially compared to the diamond garland that was worth a whole deal more to a thief. No, this was personal. Her heart sunk as she tried not to throw up caused by the sinking feeling that brewed in her stomach. A hand clutched her shoulder and she turned to see the concerned redhead. "It's gone. My locket, it's gone..."

She shouldn't have done it. Standing under the harsh patters of the shower, she stared blankly at the tiled wall. Adelaide knew what the beautiful locket meant to her sister but she couldn't stop. After she slipped into Gryffindor common room with her hair turned blonde and curly via magic, her feet carried her to the dorm where she tore the place apart. A robbery or it was supposed to look that way. She shouldn't have done it. As soon as her eye caught sight of the piece, she had the urge to take it. That's what she was there for and she only realised that once she left. And now she felt nothing, completely devoid of emotion as if a part of her left as soon as she completed a task. That's what they were tasks, for someone else. They didn't even have to ask as her body switched to auto-drive. She shouldn't have done it.

This wasn't her first time stealing, definitely not. Back in January, this entity seemed to consume her and smeared all of her senses. Her hair turned blonde as she made her way through the Gryffindor common room and up the stairs to the boys' dormitories. A certain item clear in her mind with directions to get it. Looking so alike to Eleanor had never been more of a positive than in those situations, nobody said a word. She felt powerful. On her first night, she sorted through a pair of draws and pulled out a silver dagger, which she hid in her jacket. After her return to the Slytherin dorms, she placed the blade outside of Mulciber's door and left.

The wall in front of her began to blur as she tumbled under the weight on her shoulders, she curled her legs to her chest as she allowed the water to pound at her body. Tears slipped down her cheek but no noise was made.  How could she do this to her own sister? It was hard to keep all of this contained but what choice did she have. She or Eleanor. She had to survive, she wanted to and she needed to. But it didn't stop the pain that continued to jab at her heart. This wasn't her, she knew that. Though, she hadn't been herself for years. Stop. Just make all of this stop. All she was becoming was a skeleton of a person. For years, she wished and hoped to be just like her older sister. She had no idea what that would mean. Now, she had a taste for the blonde's life and all she wanted to do was make it stop!

A/N: The more I write this book, the more I realise how gay I headcanon my OCs without realising. We love that though.

This was a little bit of a switch up in POV and I thoroughly enjoyed writing this chapter.
