Your POV

"(Y/N), that gown looks absolutely divine.", my mother compliments me.

"Thank you, mother."

My parents and I are headed to a royal ball in another kingdom.

Yes, I'm a princess, and my parents are king and queen.

Tonight, I'm supposed to meet the other royal family's son in hopes we hit it off. Apparently, our families want us to get married and form an alliance with each other.

I personally don't mind, but if he's a complete jerk, then I'm out.

Our carriage rolls up to the other kingdom. It is very extravagant and extensive.

I sigh as I step out of the carriage, nervousness building up.

What is he like?

What does he look like?

I hope he's at least decent.

Those are all things that come to my mind.

I shake my head to rid myself of those thoughts and walk into the castle.

~In the castle~

The castle is full of other royals, some people waltzing together in the ballroom.

The ballroom has cathedral ceilings with beautiful moldings. An exquisite glass chandelier hangs from the ceiling, the focal point of the room. Before you can even reach the ballroom, there is the grandest of staircases.

My parents lead me away from the ballroom to a different room.

The door was opened to reveal the king and queen and a boy who must be the prince whose back is turned away.

My parents immediately greet his, and I stand to the side secretly watching the boy.

"This is our daughter, (Y/N).", I hear my mom and dad say.

"Hello.", I say politely, curtsying.

The boy shows up next to the king and queen.

The queen introduces him to me.

"(Y/N), please meet our son, Minseok."

Minseok smiles at me and says, "Hello."

I take a good look at Minseok and immediately feel stunned. He has big eyes, slightly chubby cheeks, perfectly styled hair, a beautiful smile, simply put, he looks flawless.

"We hope you two get acquainted with each other well.", the king states interrupting my train of thought.

Minseok walks over to me and holds him arm out. I take it, and we walk out of the room together.

I blush and feel my heart speeding up.

Is this love?, I think.

He leads me outside to a balcony where there is a perfect view the stars and the castle grounds.

We sit next to each other on the bench outside in silence for while.

"So...", Minseok begins, "the sky looks nice tonight."

"Yeah, it does.", I agree.

A few seconds pass by before he speaks again.

"You know (Y/N), I didn't quite expect you to be so beautiful.", Minseok says, quickly blushing after it comes out.

"You don't have to be embarrassed, Minseok. I think you're very handsome.", I tell him putting my hand on his shoulder.

He smiles and looks at me. He leans back on the bench a bit, but since there was nothing to catch him, he fell backwards. I tried grabbing his arm, but I got pulled down with him.

It happens in what seems like milliseconds, but I suddenly feel our lips lock. I blush and try to pull away, but to my surprise, Minseok puts his hand behind my head to deepen the kiss. I recover from my shock and respond to the kiss, holding his face and gently caressing his cheeks.

We pull back and he looks into my eyes. Feeling a bit embarrassed, I avert my gaze. Minseok sits up and pulls me onto his lap and kisses my cheek.

"Another thing, (Y/N).", he says getting my attention.

I look back at him hesitantly. He wraps his arms around my waist so I can't escape.

"Since I saw you for the first time with our parents, I've fallen in love with you.", Minseok confesses.

"To be honest, I feel the same way about you.", I admit.

He smiles brightly, just like he did when I was introduced to him.

"So (Y/N), will you go through with our arranged marriage?", he asks hopefully.

"Of course I will, Minseok.", I say taking his hand assuringly.

He leans in and kisses me again. This time, I don't hesitate to immediately kiss him back.
