Today, the newly graduated soldiers were told to take part in the operations collecting the corpses after two days since the Recapture of Trost happened.
Y/N was walking beside Jean until they both stopped seeing a familiar body of a dead person.
"Hey... is that... Marco?" Jean asked
"Looks like him..." Y/N said
"Recruits. Do you know his name?" A woman walked up to them
"I haven't seen him around... but..." Jean continued mumbling while Y/N talked to the woman.
"Marco Bodt of the 104th Training Corps. Leader of the 19th Squad." Y/N said
"Marco, huh? I'm glad you knew. Let's move on." The woman walked away

They were now burning the corpse to prevent a disease inside the walls and Y/N was standing beside Annie who seemed terrified.
"What's wrong, Annie?" Y/N asked
"Let's talk later." Annie said
Y/N looked at Reiner and Bertholdt and they both nodded with their eyes closed.

Annie brought Y/N to a dark place where light barely reaches.
"What happened... Annie...?" Y/N asked
"Marco... Marco was devoured by a Titan..." Annie said
"That's all?" Y/N asked
"He was devoured by a titan... because of us... Me, Reiner, and Bertholdt. Marco heard about their conversation about making the hole in the wall, but Reiner and Bertholdt had to..." Annie said and tears accumulated in her eyes
"I see. It's alright. It was the only way. We can't expect him to stay silent. He was too smart to exist." Y/N said
Tears started falling on Annie's eyes and she put her head on Y/N's chest while holding his shirt.
"Sorry, Zeke, but I have to kill our fellow Eldians to accomplish this mission." Y/N thought
