Jennifer's POV

I walked into my house and put my hands in my sweatshirt's pocket. I walked into the kitchen and saw my mother wiping away her tears with a tissue.

"Mom?" I asked. "Is everything okay?"

My mother said nothing, all she did was pat the area on the couch next to her. I walked over and sat next to her. I couldn't help myself but hug her. She seemed desperate for a hug. She cries into my shoulder then let go.

"Mom what's wrong?" I asked.

"I've got some bad news Jennifer." She said. She sighed and then continued, "I know you and Mikey have been close and we have received good news from the hospital.... But we need to move Hun."

"Move? Wait why??" I said, confused.

"It's your grandfather... He's very sick, and we need to go over and help him."

"When will we be back??"

She stayed silent.

"Mom?? Are we coming back?"

She shook her head.

"Why not....?"

"We'll come back to visit but we have to leave. You should say your goodbyes as soon as possible..."

"When are we leaving?" I said, a tear rolling down my cheek.

She gave me a tissue and I wiped my tears away, and she said, "in a week."

"A week?!?!?" I said, starting to get mad.

"Hun, calm down."

"Can't I stay in any way??"

"Can't sorry. You have to come with me."

"But Mikey-"

"Stop with the boyfriend talk."

"No, he's my guy-friend"

"Jennifer, I can tell you guys are secretly dating...."

"We are not dating!"

"Fine then, we leave TOMORROW!"

"I CANT BELIVE YOUR DOING THIS!" I screamed at her. I ran out of the room and ran upstairs. I ran into my bedroom, and I locked the door. I was furious with my mother. I laid on my bed and cries into my pillow.

Why was she making me do this?!?!? What has gotten into her?!?!?

I felt taps on my ankle and sat up to look. I saw Melody tapping at my ankle. I sat up straight and pet her. "Why can't mom be as loyal as you." I sighed.

Melody laid on my lap and fell asleep. I picked her up slowly and set her aside, and walked into the bathroom. I sat in the corner and cried.
