Start from the beginning

"Uh, why?" they cocked an eyebrow at you, confused. Meanwhile Gigabite was happily eating their cat food out of the bowl before shoving their head into the bag your roommate was holding. The quickly noticed and wrenched the bag away.

"Well... the food was pretty good and I wanted to see if they had anything for breakfast" You somewhat lied. They mustn't of thought too hard about it and gave you a set of simple instructions and the address of the restaurant.

You quickly made your way out of the door, making sure to grab a key on the way out and giving Gigabite a kiss on their forehead.

'Ok, here we go. Don't run, people will think your we-' Your train of thought was cut off when someone ran into you. The mystery person stumbled and fell on top of you, forcing an 'oof' out of you. You were just glad that the streets were relatively empty at this time.

"AH! Scheisse- I'm sorry!" The stranger quickly hauled themselves to their feet before offering you their hand to help you get up. Still a bit sore from the tumble, you took their hand with a little hesitation. You felt a little embarrassed to think about how warm and comfortable their hand felt in yours, but you didn't dwindle to much on it.

The second you met her eyes, you felt a little déjà vu. It seemed she was feeling the same way, as she scrunched up her magenta eyes in confusion, a few orange bangs falling in front of her face.

She must've quickly brushed it off as she almost instantly went back to apologizing for running into you, explaining that she was running late and had to get to work.

"Ah... it's fine, I wasn't looking where I was going either" You gave her an awkward smile. The person looked relieved that you weren't mad at her.

"If you don't mind me asking, where are you going? You looked like you were in a rush too, so I wanted to know if I could give you instructions on where you needed to go" she added the last part on quickly, like she didn't want to seem creepy or something like that.

"Oh, uhm. I'm heading to KFP. I'm pretty hungry and it's the closest food place around. I figured I could do some jogging for some exercise" You lied not really knowing how someone would react to you going out to a fast food restaurant at something like, seven? Was it still seven. Whatever, time is irrelevant.

Instead, her eyes seemed to gain stars in.

"REALLY? I"M HEADING THERE TO!" Uhm... ok? You had never seen someone this... obsessed... with fast food. You snuck a glance down to your tattoo, not that the person noticed.

"Hey! Why don't we walk there together?" She once again held out her hand to you. Without thinking, you took her hand in yours once more, not that she seemed to mind.

"What's your name by the way? I'm Takanashi Kiara, just call me Kiara, or Tenchou, whatever you prefer" From your limited knowledge of Japanese, you vaguely remembered that Tenchou meant manager... maybe.

"Well, my name is (Y/N), it's nice to meet you, Kiara" Kiara gave you a warm smile, setting off in the direction she was originally going. You didn't say anything and followed after her.

While walking, there seemed to be something on Kiara's mind, not that you really knew what to look for, her face could just be cold, not that it was too cold out, but still. The way her hand would tighten ever so slightly around your own then relax when she realised what she was doing hinted otherwise.

"Hey Kiara, is something on your mind?" You asked out of the blue. The question caught her off guard, but she responded anyways.

"Huh? Oh, it's nothing too important, just work related things. I'm also trying to figure out why someone would want to go to KFP so early. I mean, I know it's great and all, but people usually start coming in around 9am, not 7" She gave you a cheeky grin. You felt yourself get a little flustered which prompted a few laughs out of her. You then fell quiet, contemplating on whether you should tell this stranger you just met about the reason you were going to a KFP this early in the morning.

"Uh, (Y/N)? You ok there, you zoned out for a little bit" Was the first thing you heard from Kiara as soon as you started focusing on what was going around you again.

"Huh? Oh, I'm fine... just thinking I guess" You felt Kiara squeeze your hand comfortingly, to which you squeezed back. Why were you acting like this? You had just met her and you were already feeling smitten with her? Your mind flashed a picture of your odd tattoo once again.

"Ah! We're here! Well, I'll see you later (Y/N). Unless you wanna hang around" Kiara gave you one last smile and turned around. She took one look at the sign on the door before freezing.

"Kiara? You ok?" Kiara didn't respond and just kept staring ahead. She started muttering under her breath, a part of you kinda of wanted to know what she was saying, but the way she clenching her fists suggested otherwise.

"WHY DIDN'T THEY TELL ME THEY WEREN'T OPEN TODAY?!" You almost fell back out of shock from the angry outburst. Meanwhile, Kiara was just standing there fuming. You could've sworn there were small sparks flying off her hair, but you brushed it off due to how early you got up.

"Closed?" You asked. Kiara turned back around with a crooked half smile.

"The shop is closed... I guess I forgot to check my emails since they would've told me if the shop was closed" She scratched the back of her head awkwardly.

Kiara walked forward and sat down on the steps leading into the bright orange building. She pet the spot next to her, offering for you to sit next to her. You, not having anything else to do, did so, feeling the warmth she radiated.

"Sometimes I wonder why it's so hard to find them..." She said, rubbing her right wrist gently.

"Huh?" You were confused, what was she talking about? Finding the- ohh, she was talking about her soulmate... Why was she bringing that up all of a sudden. Through all your thoughts you didn't notice how close your tattoo spots were.

"I really only know one thing about them, which is (insert favourite hobby), but there are lot's of people who like stuff like that, so it's not like it's easy to single someone out... Ahh, never mind that, is there anything you wanted to talk about, get off you chest?" Was it a mere coincidence that her soulmate loved the same thing you did? I think not. You laughed.

"Ehh, I can't really say anything. Even to this day I haven't been able to figure my tattoo out" Both of you shared a chuckled. Kiara's face lit up, like she suddenly got a great idea.

"Why don't I show you? I know a lot of people, so I might be able to help" You felt a little hesitant on the idea. Should you show this person, who was practically a stranger to you, something so important and special to you.

With great reluctance, you showed the chipper girl the odd ink splotch. The moment you did, you regretted it heavily. Kiara's face fell slightly, her brow scrunching up in thought. She looked to your tattoo to hers, then back again.

Out of nowhere, she grabbed you by the arm, pulling your wrist closer to her face to look at it. After a few seconds of her trying to figure out what it was, she froze, her eyes widening.

"Phoenix... chicken... huh... what?" She muttered softly.

"Uh, Kiara?" You said, your voice cracking nervously.

"Do you like (insert favourite hobby)?" She asked suddenly, a bit of her accent shining through a little more forcefully. You nodded slowly, which caused her eyes to shine.

"(Y/N)... I think... I think we might be soulmates!" You felt your brain working overdrive trying to compute what Kiara had just said.

Kiara held out her right wrist, showing the tattoo of (insert favourite hobby), clear as day. Without realising, you slowly reached out your hand to slowly trace the lines of Kiara's tattoo. She flinched slightly since the tattoo's were somewhat sensitive, but she didn't pull away.

"It's nice to finally find you" You said, lifting your head to meet her gaze. Kiara had a large smile on her face, though the beginning of tears were showing in the corner of her eyes. As soon as she noticed you saw, Kiara quickly wiped them away.

"I'm fine" She said, beating you to the point of asking if she was ok. "I'm just so happy that I've finally met you" Kiara's voice was trembling as she rested against you. You just let her lean on you, even wrapping one of your arms around her in a one armed hug.

"We should probably move before people start filling up the streets" You said after a few moments of silence. Kiara sighed and pressed herself further into your embrace.

"just a few more moments~"
