Marinette's eyes wandered as she looked around at the designs that everyone wore. Some of them were tame, others looked like they belonged on a runway, and some.....she wasn't sure what they thought they were wearing.

"How are you enjoying the Wayne's New Year's Eve Gala?" asked Damian.

" I'm enjoying it, Dami." Marinette answered, "I just have some concerns as to why people are dressed for Halloween."

Damian chuckled. He had certainly seen people dress over the top for some of his father's functions and New Year's Eve was no different.

"I don't know, but I'm not allowed to talk to them, anymore." he replied.

"Why?" Mari questioned.

"One of them tried to talk to me when Father brought me as a child, I asked why they were wearing an ugly costume when everyone else seemed to have taste." Damian spoke, "They said it was 'in-style'. I told them they look like they got dressed in the dark at a Halloween store."

Marinette began to laugh.

"Well, you better warn Bruce to let them know not to speak to me either." Marinette smiled, "They won't have a leg left to stand on if I get to them."

"How about a dance, then?" he offered, "We can make sure neither of us get in trouble."

"I'd love that." Mari replied.

As they danced, they became the center of everyone's conversations. No one knew who she was or how she had managed to capture the sight of Damian Wayne. He kept her close at all times.

Marinette could feel the butterflies in her stomach, as she looked into Damian's eyes. They were trying to find a way to break through. Damian had asked her to be his date, but she was unsure how he meant. They had gotten close over the years, but she was too scared to ever ask.

Damian reminded himself not to get lost in Marinette's bluebell eyes. He knew it was a easy slope to fall off of. He was glad she never noticed during their video calls. He had seen the way some of those vultures were eyeing her. He knew if he left her for a moment, they we would flock to her. He would let them know she was his and his alone.

"Marinette?" Damian spoke.

"Yes, Damian?" Marinette questioned.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked.

Marinette smiled, "Yes."
