"C'mon, you have to go to the party!" Jacob pleaded, walking beside me down the hall.

"I don't want to," I firmly state, ridding of my friends request.

"Why not?"

"I have no reason to go."

"But it'll be fun! The dancing, music, how often do you get to listen to loud music? With your strict ass parents—"

"Hey! Only I get to talk shit about them."

"Alright, alright. But seriously, how often?"

I think for a moment, recalling the last time I even listened to music. "Never."

"Exactly!"

"So what makes you think they'll let me go to a party?"

"Who says they have to know?"

"I do!"

"What for?" Jacob walks backwards in front of me, folding his arms.

"Because I'm not doing anything behind their backs."

"Why? You'll get beat?"

"We don't talk about that."

"We'll figure something out. Whether I drag you there or not, you're coming."

"As long as they know."

"Will do."

My phone rings and I take a few seconds to answer, singing along with the ringtone.

"What took you so long?" I hear Jacobs voice on the other end.

"I like the song."

"You can listen to better music later, are you home yet?"

"Have been for like..." I look at the time on my watch, "five minutes. I just laid down, too."

"Too bad. I'm coming over now."

"My mom isn't home."

"Where's your dad?"

"Take a damn guess," I roll my eyes. He was always drunk and passed out. Especially on weekends.

"Yeah, how long until your mom gets there?"

"I don't know, she's working over tonight," I find something to do while I set my phone on speaker and roam around my room.

"That's so stupid," he held out on the "i" 'cause he's a dramatic little bitch. Still great, though.

"I know, but who cares, I'm alone!"

"Yeah, but not being alone is so much more fun!"

"As long as you're surrounded by people you want to be with." I pick up the dirty clothes that had been scattered on my floor for the past week. I already knew my mom would yell at me if my room wasn't cleaned.

"Who do you want to be with?"

"You and my other friends."

"Then come to the party!"

"There will be people I don't like. School has enough people that I can't stand yet I'm forced to be near, let's not add to that list, kay?"

"You don't have to talk to anyone besides us,"

"As if. People always want to talk."

"Because you're a cool person! Come on, please?"

"I'll ask my mom. Then you get to come and persuade her."
