Before you begin reading these poems, I just want to say that I rarely write poems and these, to me, are just a beginning. Now, I'm not posting these to get people saying how great they are or that they love them. I just want to know how you felt when you read them so I can improve. Knowing this will help me phrase my stanzas to get my initial idea across. Again, I'm new to this poetry thing.
Please leave your thoughts of the poem in the comments adjacent to them. The one thing I ask is that you don't critique it in the sense like you would a novel. My goal here is to improve on my writing and I can't do that without knowing the feelings of the reader. I hope you like these and I can't wait to hear what you think. Thanks all!
Lastly, if you're a poet and you have any advice for me about writing poetry in general (meaning not about these specific poems), I welcome it. I am really starting to enjoy writing poetry and I would love to hear if you have any tips about your writing process or getting inspiration, again, in regard to poetry.
