He looked back at the album and stared at the picture of a smiling Rouge who was holding a baby or toddler version on Sans. Holding him up in a way to make it look like she was showing off a prize.
In her mind she most likely was. The prize being her son. Getting to show him off and encourage him into being whoever he wanted to be.
Gaster frowned as he thought back to that day. He took a breath before speaking. "Well you see..." he rubbed the back of his neck and thought for a quiet moment about where to start before speaking again.
"It was 5 soon to be 6 years ago. Papyrus was only 2 months old at the time. While Sans was 10,"
It was a normal day. Just like any other day in the Underground. I had brought Sans and Papyrus with me to the Core. Papyrus was going to get his weight checked while Sans got a few shots and spinal tap.
He was not sick but we still checked from time to time. He had a very weak immune system when he was younger. Still has but it is not as bad as it was back then. So we checked twice a year.
Rouge Script had patrol duty that day. So, she was working like any other day. Walking through the forest of Snowdin. Making sure nothing bad was around and everyone was safe, before she went off to Waterfall to trained some of the guard members. Though that day wasn't like any other day in the Underground.
That day a human had fallen into the Underground. They were not a child like all the other humans that had fallen into the Underground. They were a fully grown human. An even rarer sight for the monsters. The rule was to capture any human and gather their soul.
Me and Sans watched from the cameras. I wanted Sans to see what monsters needed to do when a human fell into the Underground. And for him to see how amazing his mother was in a true battle... that human had another plan though. Everything went wrong and down hill.
The human was different from the last one that fell down. They had dust on their clothes. A sign that they had killed monsters that lived in the ruins. From the cameras we saw that they were going around dusting monsters. They were doing it to every monster but almost every other monster was met with that humans heartless assault.
Since that happened I had called an evacuation of all monsters. Everyone in Snowdin locked the doors and hide, same with every other monster past Snowdin. They all hide from the dangerous human.
They walked through Snowdin not finding anyone until they reached the edge right before Snowdin. The other guards having been either hurt or dusted along the way...
Rouge stood in their way. Keeping them from passing on into Waterfall. She had challenged the human. Yelling at them about how much of a horrible monster they were. How they were the true monster.
She fought with all her soul. Sending wave after wave of bone bullets, blaster, different forms of soul magic, tritons, ring swords, katars, and much more. She did not want that human to win. Wanting them to pay for the lives that they stolen.
They had fought for almost 3 hours straight... sadly though... that human played dirty. Not abiding by the rules of battle. They were a horrible cheater and a dirty hacker... he took Rouge's life that day.
My team were the only ones who had not really evacuated. We were prepared to fight them because well the elevator was broken so we could not hide in the safer lower levels of the True Lab. Plus aside from my children there with us other children we wanted to protect.
