#9 Acceptance

Izuku Midoriya, one word to describe in full? Terrified. It had been a week since the entrance exams and all he had was a bundle of nerves, Naruto had tried to calm him down as much as he could but the one person he knew would calm him down was All Might, he had been to UA so asking him if he would do well with the points he had gotten was something on his mind, but he couldn't get ahold of the Hero and he was terrified.

His mother had suddenly came in after he was eating his dinner, silently, he had been staring at the fish that he was holding up with his chopsticks. Scampering on the floor she shakily held up the letter in her hands. "T-The letter! IT came!" Izukus stood up quickly and grabbed it from his mom, "D-Do you want me to be in there when you open it?" Inko asked her son making Izuku smile a little grimly and turned to give her a bright smile. "It's okay mom! I know I'll be fine!" he slowly closed the door to his room and turned towards his desk, sitting down he lightly opened the letter, treating it fairly seriously and not wanting to rip any of the contents inside...

Inside, however, he was surprised to find a little metal disk. Looking at it closely he pressed the button on the top and a projection appeared making Izuku jump briefly, before tilting his head in confusion. "A-All Might!?" The permanent grin noticeable anywhere, especially in his room since it was filled to the brim with his merchandise. Izukustood up straight as the video started to play. "I am here! As a projection! Yes! I am appearing before you for news! I am going to teach at UA!" Izuku instantly got excited before feeling his nerves shot, he would learn under him even more and publicly if he got in... If...

"Now down to business! You did terrifically on the written portion, earning an exceptionally high score of ninety-eight percent! Well done!" Izuku smiled brightly at that, it wasn't a perfect score, but it was well enough. "Of course the main course! The practical! You earned a respectable 52 villain points, well enough to earn you a spot in our school." Izuku let that process for a moment before he saw the grin widen on his face, "Of course if we were just scoring for defeating villains you would have only gotten fifth place... But there is something! An unannounced point system!" He shouted as he pointed and another grid appeared, Izuku looked at it and his jaw dropped.

"S-Seventy rescue points!?" (1) Izuku felt himself get light-headed before All Might turned back, "You had a combined score of one hundred and twenty-two! The highest of any this year and for that matter many years before! Congratulations Young Midoriya." Putting his hand out to the camera All Might winked with his grin. "Welcome to your Hero Academia!" He felt his breath labored as he felt tears run down his face. His smile bright on his face as he wiped his eyes.

Grabbing his phone as the projection paused he clicked on his contacts and quickly called the blue-eyed blond that took the exam with him. He heard the phone being picked up and he heard a very smug voice. "Sooo? Did you get in?" Izuku smiled brightly as he sniffed away the remaining tears. "I got first." There was a pause before there was full-blown laughter on the other end of the phone. "I got third! I was wondering who was the one to get that many points! And you were worried!" 

Izuku laughed joyously which made Naruto smile from his side of the phone, "Is your mom surprised?" Naruto hummed, "I doubt it, she's still at UA for some last-minute paperwork, besides she works there so probably already knew." Izuku nodded his head, "What about yours?" Izuku seems to pause before Naruto heard the phone drop and he blinked before hearing a small amount of commotion over the phone, "Did he seriously tell me first?"  After hearing all the commotion and what was suspiciously crying. 

"Sorry, I'm back! I was so caught up in it all I forgot." Naruto shook his head, not even surprised. "Well, we both got in! So that's something to celebrate." Izuku nodded his head in agreement, "Oh Izuku! Invite Naruto-Kun over. Be Polite!" Inko said quite frantically making Naruto smile slightly, "M-mom." Izuku stuttered out as Inko grabbed his phone, "Oh come on over, I was making a big meal to celebrate when you told me not to worry! So come on down!" Izuku grabbed his phone back and gave a small pointed glare at his mom that held no malice. "I-If you want to that is..." Izuku muttered making Naruto laugh slightly. "Sure, we having Katsudon then?" 

Izuku's ears burned as Inko shouted. "The Katsudon will be ready soon!" Naruto grinned as he put on his shoes, "I'll be over in a few!" Izuku hung up as the blond couldn't help but grin, now all he had to hope for was he and Izuku would be in the same class... and knowing his mother, she might pull some strings to make that happen. Sending a quick text to Tsunade he locked the entrance and started jogging over towards his friend's home... he had been there once and it was a very tidy home, kept by the two residences of Inko Midoriya and Izuku.

He had met Inko many times before, though the very first time was a fun memory... "Oh Izuku! The food is all done! It's on the table." Naruto had heard a woman's voice shout as he took off his shoes, placing them by the front of the door so he wouldn't scuff any flooring. "Thank you, mom! I brought someone with me!" Izuku shouted back, after a moment a woman walked around the corner as Naruto looked around the room in wonder. "Oh my, are you that friend I keep hearing on and on about?" Izuku blushed brightly, "M-Mom!" His voice told him that it was embarrassing. "And you must be mama Midoriya!"  Inko smiled slightly at the boy's charisma.

"Well, I made more than enough for three if you would like?" Naruto smiled brightly and nodded his head, "That sounds nice, Thank you Mrs Midoriya." Inko waved her hand. As they all sat down Inko hummed out, "So is this the reason why you've been on that odd diet?" It had been a week since Izuku had asked her to start making meals in a certain way and Izuku's face turned into a deep crimson. "M-Mom! Y-You know I'm training to be a hero!" Naruto's face was a little flushed but couldn't help but grin slightly. "I suppose I am the reason since I've been helping him with his training!" Inko hummed curiously. 

"Well, I must thank you then..." Naruto kicked himself internally for not introducing himself. "Naruto! Naruto Uzumaki!" He grinned making Inko hum out curiously. "Uzumaki-Kun." He had gone over a lot and Inko grew fond of the blond that seemed to be so close to her son, she had saw a lot of growth between the two and couldn't help but thank the universe that brought the blond to her son to be so close with him... 

Inko had flipped the pork and hummed, the last friend Izuku had told her about was little Katsuki Bakugo, the boy had completely gone off the face of the planet in terms of when her son talked about him, knowing his mother she had asked a bit but didn't get much and just assumed they just stopped talking to each other, and that was a long time ago.. so she was glad Naruto came into his life, especially at such a crucial moment.

There was a knock on the door as she rolled her eyes with a small smile, she placed the pork into the bowel before walking over to the door and opened it. "How many times do I gotta say this Naruto-Kun! You can just come in, no need to be so formal!" The blond grinned as he was scolded by The Mama Midoriya. "Sorry! Sorry! My mom would kill me if I broke that habit!" Inko rolled her eyes, she had met Tsunade Senju once but knew she was an earnest woman.

"Well, the food is done, can you go get Izuku?" Nodding his head Naruto turned to the hallway where Izuku's room was and walked on over, knocking on it he opened the door with a grin. "Yo~" Waving his hand as he saw Izuku sitting on his chair, the little disk in his hands. "Hey." Izuku got up from his chair and Naruto gave a grin as he held out both his arms. "Come on! Ya know you want a celebratory hug." Izuku smiled slightly and walked into the arms and hugged him, although they were both strong, Naruto was very gentle about it, barely feeling it Izuku looked up with a small smile. "Your mom said the Katsudon is done." Naruto started to slowly remove his arms but Izuku.

"W-Wait." Izuku's hug turned a little more tighter making Naruto look down at his chest where Izuku's head laid. "Thank you..." he tilted his head curiously. "For what?" Izuku shook his head slightly which made him flush at the action. "Just... Everything I guess." Izuku lightly pulled away but Naruto placing his hand on the back of his head and hugged him once more. "I guess I am pretty amazing." Izuku's ears burned as he whispered. "You are..."

Short but oh well, the next chapter will be first day of school.

(1) The reason why he got 70 points and not 60, he stood up and tried to make sure Ochako was alright, made the rescue look done and not just punch and then drop dead...
