B-Believe Me It Gets Better

So here is my next letter for ya! Hope u enjoy and be sure to comment if u liked it or had any other ideas on how I could improve! 😁 *I do not own Henry Danger or any of the characters *

Henry's POV

It was 10:00 on a Saturday you night and I was walking home from Junk n'Stuff expecting to and I just walked up to my front porch and unlocked the door. I walked in expecting to see the usual Piper on her phone,my dad doing some weird idea he had and my mom doing chores,but instead I saw a dark empty house. I thought maybe everyone decided to go out and do something to set my backpack down and turned on the lights. I noticed I felt hungry since I had to skip dinner to work late tonight. I remembered I had some left over chicken in the refrigerator from lunch so I headed to the kitchen to get some food. I stopped in my tracks when I saw a note on the counter so I picked it up and read it.

Dear Henry,so sorry to do this to u so suddenly but your father and I are leaving you. It's not that we don't want you it's just that we can only afford one child since your dad keeps getting demoted on his job. I fear soon he won't have a job soon so we decided to pack up and leave now. Since piper is the youngest we decided to keep her. Believe it or not we do love u and someday will come back for you.
Love,Mom

My heart felt as if it just got shattered into a million pieces. "How could they just leave me like that?" I thought. Might as well save this chicken for later because I definitely won't be able to afford food for every day. I decided to figure this out tomorrow and just go to bed for now. I left the note on the counter and went upstairs.

(The next morning)

Charlotte's POV

I noticed something off about Henry. He wasn't acting himself. I shrugged it off for now since we arrived at Junk n' Stuff. Jasper did what he always does and began his shift behind the counter and Henry and I made our way to the elevator. We braced ourselves for the huge drop that just happened and the elevator doors opened. We walked out and said hello to Ray but I noticed that Henry still just wasn't acting right. I decided I was gonna ask him about it but before I could say anything Ray spoke up."Do u guys wanna do something fun?" He asked. Henry stared off into space which confused me because he is always so talkative. So I said "sure,what if we play a game?" I knew Henry loved playing games because he tended to get competitive. If that didn't snap him into shape then I would know for sure if something was bothering him.

Ray's POV

I just saw the kids walk out of the elevator and greeted them kindly but I noticed Henry wasn't saying much. Usually once he gets here he immediately begins talking about his day and what's been going on at his house but instead he just gave a me a hi and went to sit down and stare off into space. I thought maybe he just had a rough day so I asked the kids if they wanted to do something fun. Henry just continued to stare off into space so Charlotte asked if we could play a game. I think she noticed something was up with him too so I agreed to that knowing Henry loves playing games. "Ok,what game do u guys wanna play" I asked. Henry looked up at me but did not say a word. Charlotte looked like she was about to say something but then the crime alarm went off. I went to see what was up.

Caller: "hello is this captain man and kid danger?" She asked.

Ray: yes this is captain man what is your emergency?

Caller: My friend,she and I were just at nacho ball when a robber came in and locked everyone in the refrigerators.

Ray: ok,kid danger and I are on our way.

*call ended*

Alright kid you know what to do! Instead of making up a fun rhyme like we always do he just reached into his pocked and got it out his gum. I wanted to ask him if anything was bothering him but I didn't have time right now. Be blew our bubbles and made our way to the tubes. "Be careful!" Charlotte reminded us. You wanna call it? I asked the kid. "Up the Tube." He said with no enthusiasm at all. I had to find out what was wrong with him.

Henry's POV

We got to the scene of the crime and prepared for action. "Freeze and don't move!" Ray shouted. "That's the same thing."I reminded Ray. "Whatever,just don't move and drop your weapons!" Ray shouted. I wanted to laugh at Ray's little mistake but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Soon I snapped myself back to reality has the robber charged to us. Soon a brawl broke out. I was taking a pretty skinny guy that was wearing a fully black outfit and a ski mask. I tried to concentrate on my moves but my mind was everywhere else but the fight. I could hear Ray yelling something at me but I was to busy trying to concentrate. The robber eventually went down but it took awhile. I can't believe it took me this long to take down a guy like this. He didn't look like he a muscle in his body. Ray called the cops to bring these guys to jail. As we were waiting for them to arrive Ray asked me,"Kid what's wrong with you?"You've been acting weird since you got to the man cave." Crap! He's on to me. Think of a good lie. I didn't want anyone to know that I had been abandoned. It was already embarrassing enough. Nothing,I uh,just didn't sleep well last night."Oh,well if that's all then just take the night off." He said. Not something that sounds like what Ray would say. I was about to decline this offer because there was no point in taking off the night just to sit around in a empty house all night,but the cops showed up just as I was about speak. That arrested the robbers and the police handled the hostages. Ray and I headed back to the man cave and I just started to stare off into space again.

Ray's POV

So,do you wanna take the night off? I can just drive you home if you home if you want.He hesitated for a minute but finally said sure. I needed to find out what was wrong with that kid.

Henry's POV

Ray asked to take me home which I didn't really want to,but i didn't need ray getting suspicious so I said yes.
I got home and said goodbye to Ray as I hopped out of the man van. I headed inside and just went up to my room knowing there was nothing to eat for dinner.

Ray's POV

I needed to find out what was wrong with him and I knew he wasn't gonna tell me truth if I asked again so I drove around where he couldn't see me. I waited a few minutes and got out to go inside of his house. I was gonna talk to his parents and see if they knew anything. When I walked in everything was dark. I figured maybe they just forgot to pay the electric bill or something. Luckily I had a flashlight and made my way through the house. I stopped at the counter and noticed a note. I picked it up and read it. When I was done tears were filling my eyes. Henry had been abandoned. Then I heard a distant "Ray?" from around the corner. I looked over to see a confused Henry staring at me. I hadn't even noticed how skinny he had become. Kid,why didn't you tell me about this? I asked him. He hung his head low. " I was just kinda embarrassed about it. Plus i didn't want to add anything else to your list of problems." He explained. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Kid! You never have to be embarrassed about things like this! I will ALWAYS be here for you when you need me. If you want,I can adopt you and you can live with me in the man cave. How does that sound? I saw the first smile on his face for today. "Yes!" He said excitedly. Well,go pack an overnight bag. We can come back tomorrow to get everything else.

Henry's POV
I thought I heard something downstairs so I went to check it out. I looked over and saw Ray with the note in his hands and tears in his eyes. " Ray?" I said quietly. He whipped around to see me and started asking me questions about the note. I finally broke and explained everything. Then the unexpected thing happened and he asked me if it was ok for him to adopt me! I was so excited! Secretly I always thought of Ray as my second father. I packed an overnight bag and Ray said we would get everything else in the morning. When we left I started to get tears in my eyes. Ray obviously noticed and as if reading my mind he knew exactly what I was thinking about. Then he told me,"Believe me it gets better."My tears of sadness immediately turned to tears of happiness and joy. I knew right after Ray said that,that everything from here on out,would get better and better.
