"Your boyfriend is on his way" Dad informed me
I gave him a wide smile.
My dance with Dad was about to end when he grip on my hand firmly. I gave him a curious stare. Wonderin' why he did that.
He smile weakly and the side of his eyes wrinkled. There's something on him that I can't name.
"Kapag 'di ka na kayang mahalin ng mga taong nakapaligid sayo 'nak, uwi ka lang sa bahay ha... nando'n kami ng Mommy mo para iparamdam sayo ng paulit ulit kung gaano ka kahalaga." He said softly and a shade of ruth passed in his teary eyes
I'm addeplated but dad's message still enveloped my system with a warm unknown feeling.
I slightly caress his shoulder to calm his emotions.
"You are the most precious eighteen year old I've ever seen. Happy birthday my Princess" He added sincerely with another set of tears in his eyes
My heart dwell upon hearing his words. I pout like a kid and slowly came to him to hugged him tight. Everyone clap for us as Daddy leave the spotlight.
After Dad and I danced, Tito followed. Then it was followed by some Dad's colleagues that are also my Ninong and some family friend. All of them just greeted me and wish me a blessed year.
"Nasa'n na si Nathan?" Nagtatakang tanong sa'kin ni Rox ng iaabot nya ang pulang bulaklak
"Haynako ha, 'pag 'yan di dumating salamat nalang talaga sa lahat" Biro nya subalit mababanaag pa rin ang inis nya
"He'll come off course, it's my debut. There's no way he'll drop this for anything else" I said confidently and tap his shoulder in not so obvious way
He rolled his eyes and put his hands on my waist. He act like a disgusted dog while he's doing that, reason why I let some chuckles out. Akala mo ay nakakadiri akong bagay na di nya maatim na hawakan man lang. The waist part of my gown is revealing my bare skin that's why.
"Ang arte mo" bulong ko sa kanya tsaka mas inilapit ang sarili
"Lumayo ka nga girl, nahahawakan ko na nga ang likod mo tapos lalapit ka pa ng ganyan. Kinikilabutan ako sa'yo gaga" Pagalit n'yang sabi pero nakangiti pa rin para hindi mahalata ng mga tao na nagbabangayan na kami.
"I love you Daddy" I joked, and we both know what I meant by "daddy"
He rolled his eyes again and pinch me softly.
"Dapat talaga di ko na sinabi 'yon sa inyo" Nagsisising pahayag nya na muli kong ikinatawa
Dance with Rox made me calm and a little out of focus on Nathan inexistence. We did nothing but to tease each other throughout the dance until it's done.
"And for the last dance of our debutant, Nathan Primo Ybardolaza" the emcee announced and everyone is anticipating to see my last dance
I smile glamorously as I saw Nathan holding a blue rose walking towards where I stand. I knew he'll come.
"Antagal mo, kinakabahan na ako kanina" I say as he reach for my hand
He handed me the blue rose and we started swaying in the new rhythm that the organ has been producing. It's filling the place with a quaint vibe.
Everyone looks so classic and elegant, complimenting the venue and decorations.
"Huy!" Nang aasar na tawag ko ng bahagyang tumagal ang katahimikan sa pagitan namin
But silence remained. He looked up and our eyes met.
"Pahinga na tayo Nami. Pagod na ako" he said and looked away
