I woke up the next morning feeling like I had just been hit by a bus 12 times. My head was hurting and my eyes were the puffiest they've ever been. I still have to go to school like this. I listened for any noise in the house and sighed heavily realizing mom wasn't home.
I picked up my phone seeing a couple of notifications from the group chat Sero added me in last night and a text from Mom saying she'll be back sometime tomorrow. At least I won't have to explain to her why my childhood friend for many years suddenly left. I didn't even know the reason myself.
I made myself a quick breakfast. The whole house was very quiet. I sat at the breakfast table waiting for Star's morning quips and hungry stomach but of course, that wasn't going to happen. After I finished breakfast and got ready, I snuck into Mom's room borrowing her makeup to cover up my puffy eyes and headed off to school.
I stared at my feet as I walked not wanting to face the fact that I'll never walk this same path with Star ever again.

I looked back to see Sero and Kaminari heading in my direction with big goofy smiles on their faces. Their smiles were contagious I couldn't help but smile at them in return as I waited for them to catch up to where I was.
Sero swung his arm over my shoulder as we walked and said, "Don't mind Kaminari. He stayed up all night watching Animaniacs on loop." "You can't blame me! The classics are definitely the way to go. My mom had to stop when I laughed too hard and fell off my chair." Kaminari laughed.
I couldn't help but laugh too at the image of Kaminari falling off a chair. "There she is," Kaminari yelled triumphally, "Sero you owe me 20 bucks. I told you I could make her laugh first." "Awe man, I thought for sure it would be me," Sero said rummaging in his pocket and was handing Kaminari the 20 when I snatched it from his hands.
"I should totally get a cut. You guys bet on me without my consent. It's only fairrrr," I cooed giving them a smirk. "Awe c'mon man I was totally going to buy Super Smash Bros Ultimate!" "Oh I have that one," I handed him back the 20, "We can play together." I pulled out a pen from my backpack and wrote my game tag on his hand.
"A girl gave me her game tag. So, when's our date," he said wiggling his eyebrows "Never. We're just friends." I evilly giggled Kaminari dramatically clutched his heart making an OoO face.
"Ooo friend-zoned." Sero laughed giving me a high five. We continued to make fun as we walked to school. At some point, we even picked up Mina on our way to school. As we neared the school, we were bombarded with reporters from all kinds of news stations.
"You there the one with the ears! Can you tell us what it's like to have All Might as a teacher!" some random lady with a microphone marched up to me. "Uhh, he's a great teacher...and very muscley." I said trying to make a break for it. "You pink lady! What about you? What do you think of All Might as a teacher." the reporter said immediately moving from me to Mina.
