"Evan, you can't let people manipulate you." Brian tells me sympathetically. I glance down, manipulation being a rough topic. It's something that never got easier to talk about. Only harder.
"I know. I'm sorry." I mumble. Jon silently stands up and grabs his stuff, not taking a glance at anyone.
"You're leaving?" Brock asks. Jon doesn't respond as he grabs his stuff and walks out, slamming the door behind him and making me flinch. I sigh, relaxing my shoulders. I knew he would be mad.
"What was that?!" Brian's mom yells from across the hall.
"It was an accident Ma!!" Brian responds, sighing and laying on his back afterwards.
"You should go get him." Brock advises, putting his hands between his legs.
I nod, standing up and waving at them before walking out and closing Brian's door. I race down the stairs and swing the front door open, running towards Jon walking towards his house.
"Jon." I try to grab his hand but he pushes me away.
"Jon, please-"
He stops and sighs, his back still turned towards me, "Please go away, Evan. I obviously don't want to talk to you."
He storms off into his house, leaving me standing outside.

I put my hands in my hoodie pockets as I walk down the street. I was out way longer than I thought I would be. Auntie loves to talk, and I like to listen. It was nice seeing them again, and seeing them doing good. They're starting to get up in age, being 34 and 37. Not old, but not necessarily young. The weird part, is that I was never told who's sister Aunt Rose was. She doesn't look like either of my parents, but she's definitely asian as well. There was always a lot of secrets in the family.
I kick a rock on the sidewalk, feeling down again. I've been having mood swings all day. My auntie kept asking why I seemed down, and I couldn't find the courage to say that me and Jon aren't talking. I wish it was easier to say things.
Today was a worse day than I thought.
I look up as I reach my house, seeing my friends sitting on the sidewalk talking. Marcel looks up at me as I walk towards them.
"About time you showed up! Where were you?" Marcel stands up as I approach him. I glance down to my right and see Craig and David looking up at me as well.
I look back at Marcel, "Were you waiting on me?"
"Kind of. We wanted to provide emotional support." David tells me, putting his arms on his knees. I sigh and close my eyes for a minute before walking past Marcel.
I open my front door, "I appreciate the offer but I really don't feel like talk-"
"Not today, Fong." Craig speaks up, all of a sudden standing next to me, "We have clear instructions to not leave you alone."
I look at him confusingly as I step inside and turn on a light, "By who?" I walk upstairs, hearing footsteps follow me.
"By David's Grandma." Marcel comments, following me into my room. I take off my shoes and sit on my bed sadly.
"Right now really isn't a good time." I tell them, laying down on my bed and curling up.
"You say that like we don't know what going- oh, wait. Well..." Craig juggles with his words.
I raise an eyebrow, lazily looking up at him, "Hm?"
He pulls up my desk chair and puts it next to my bed, facing me. I close my eyes again, waiting for him to speak up and i feel someone sit on the edge of my bed.
