I looked down at my note. Written at: 12:43. I looked at my phone in my hand. 12:57. Shoot This might look suspicious. Oh well. I continued to walk towards the bathroom. Before I walked around the corner through the door, I heard muffled yells of frustration. Again, the sounds of the voice were familiar. I pulled the door open and walked in.

On the floor was a backpack, with everything that was once inside, on the floor. And there was Clay, leaned over the sink, forcing his eyes shut. "Hey Cl-"

"George! What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in class or something?" He yelled. His arms moving fast, pointing towards the door. "I-I.. the librarian gave me a pass and told me to go to the bathroom to cool down. When I got here I heard you and N-Nick in the bathroom and I couldn't go in, I-I was too scared of him. So I went behind the lockers and found Rose." He slowly inched closer "A-are you okay?" I ask quietly.

"Yes, I'm fine!" He yelled. Frightened, I slowly stepped back until my back hit the wall. I could feel the familiar feeling of a lump forming in my throat, and my vision clouded.

-Switch POV to Clay-

George Backed up against the wall and slid down, while still maintaining eye contact. I noticed tears forming and snapped back into realization. I was standing above him, appearing very angry. Suddenly I stood up straight and backed away. I was becoming the person I fear most, Nick. I was towered over the smaller male, with my fists clenched so hard, my knuckles became white. "W-wait. George, it's not what it looks like." I shake my head and release my fists. "I'm so so sorry. I didn't mean to come off as rude o-or angry or anything. I'm so sorry." My genuine apology did not fly well because he was already in a ball, shaking. Not knowing what to do, I kneeled down next to him.

"George, I'm sorry. Nick was threatening me because he found me with you in the library. I saw you leave history and walk towards the library instead of the cafeteria. I couldn't help but want to know what you were doing. I think youre so cool and don't deserve whatever Nick is doing to you. I've known him since we were kids and he's never like this. And I mean never. His ex girlfriend recently cheated on him and he had just paid off her car. He couldn't help but be angry." At this point I saw him tilt his head up. His tear stained cheeks were staring right at me. His chocolate brown eyes were filled with tears, red and puffy. I felt terrible.

I knew it wasn't going to be long until Nick realizes what he's doing is damaging. "For the record, I don't think you're short. Were just giants. Besides, I kinda like short people. They have character." Before I knew it, He was giggling. I wasn't sure what I had said to make him all giddy but i'm glad to see him smiling. His giggles turned into laughs, and soon his body relaxed and he was crying of laughter. "W-what did I say to make you laugh?" Nervous laughter escaped my mouth.

He managed to let out a few words, "Y-you said you... like s-s-short people." He was now holding his stomach, laughing the hardest i've ever seen someone laugh. "Oh haha I didn't think it was funny." I said.

Once he calmed down he smiled at me. I opened my arms and invited him in for a hug. He leaned forward and fell into my embrace. I could tell this was a long needed hug for him. After a few moments we pulled away. "Thanks Clay." His face was still red from crying and he had a huge smile plastered across his face.

"Hey of course anytime!" I said. I handed him my phone and told him to put his number in. "I wanna get closer to you. I meant it when I said you're a cool kid." I heard a giggle escape his thin lips and he sniffled. He handed me back my phone and there was some silence. The comfortable silence that you can drown in, but somehow still feel afloat. I stood up and offered my hand. He took it and I pulled him up, but he was a lot lighter than I expected, so he basically flew up.
