Follow me; Follow me

Dark sisters, dark friends

Follow me; Follow me

Where the night never ends

Closer we peer, and closer we near

to that darkness that was always here

Follow me; Follow me

Down that long winding road

Follow me; Follow me

Never wander alone

Never wander alone

Thud. CRASH

Thud. CRASH

Thud. CRASH

Thunder. That is all it was. Just thunder. She swore under her breath as another thud and crash caused the room around her to shake once more. A painting broke nearby, knocked off the wall by the force of the shaking.

"Okay, maybe not thunder," she whispered to herself getting out of her bed.

"Marline! Come out immediately! Gods woman do you not feel the earthquake? We must take cover. Quickly! Quickly!"

Marline ran out of her room wearing nothing but her long silk robe and all but ran through the short round woman pounding on her door. "Jesus, Lee, I'm right here. Of course, I heard the earthquake. Where are the rest of the girls?"

Lee composed herself quickly, "They've all taken cover in the lower level of the house Madame. You do not think it's him, do you? It's too early. They would not have released him from his cage this soon. They won't be safe. They have no way to protect themselves yet. They don't even know what they are. How are we going to-"

"ENOUGH Lee. Go to the lower levels. Ensure the girls are safe for the moment. I will put a barrier around the house. Even if he was released, it would be impossible for him to find us here. Never the less, we will prepare the girls once we know the threat. For now, one problem at a time. Go, I will join you shortly."

Lee turned on her heel and ran through the hallway knocking over two statues perched on the corners. Marline shook her head, Lee had never been one for grace and even in the face of danger she still remains the most flustered fool in the entire kingdom.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

There it was again, but instead of it sounded like a raging storm from the heavens, it was centered at the front door of the academy, like a perfectly placed ominous knock. Never one to take a sign lightly, Madame Marline, the most esteemed witch and teacher of her age, began her chants. But unlike what she had disclosed to Lee, she did not pull forward a barrier spell, but rather a relocation spell.

And when the door burst open from the force of the wind, a young man stood in the doorway, staring at the bones of an abandoned school academy.
