Possibilities

A week had gone by since the night everything went down with the Kryptonian and the Luthor. They had both kept busy with the exception of the regular lunch dates in the Luthor's office of course.

Everything seemed fine on the outside, nothing out of the ordinary. Kara Danvers had been writing exquisite articles, Lena Luthor was always working on her personal and business projects as usual and Supergirl being the champion of Earth as you'd expect.

On the inside, however, things were falling apart, Lena was starting to experience morning sickness, she was in constant pain, she was also afraid to find out who the other parent of baby was. Kara on the other hand, was trying so hard to hide the fact she was afraid the baby wasn't hers. She hadn't even told Alex that Lena was pregnant. It was understandable though, they hadn't exactly talked things through, after the whole ordeal went down (with keeping secrets).

Now she was keeping one of her own.

Kara and Lena contrastingly were not exactly talking. They were talking yes, but not communicating about the elephant in the room. The baby.

Neither had brought up the baby in all their conversations. They both seemed to be bottling up everything very well. But we all know that there is a time when everything will catches up with you, one way or another.

I mean, we try so hard to hide everything we're really feeling from those who probably need to know our true feelings the most. And we try to bottle up their emotions as if it's somehow wrong to have a natural reaction to certain things in life.

But it's not wrong and they both knew it. But even then, they didn't dare bring the matter to the table until that day when Lena passed out in the middle of her business presentation while Kara had just arrived for their lunch date. That was when she had heard the chaos from the board meeting and rushed in.

When she saw Lena unconscious on the floor, she went back into Lena's office, changed into her Supergirl suit, and without even thinking, she held her in her arms and flew out of there.

"What happened?" the older Danvers had asked, the minute she had touched down inside the DEO

"I don- I don't know" Kara stuttered as she held her hand to her mouth trying hold in her breath, then continued, "I just found her laying on the floor, unconscious"

"two hundred milligrams phenobarbital, stat," Alex asked the other co-workers around her, "Come on, Lena. Calm down, calm down" she looked worried, which didn't help Kara at all

"Two litres of saline run it open. I want a radial artery line and two red tox" the director commanded

"Blood pressure, 70 over palp. Pulse is 30 and falling" someone called out for the older Danvers to hear

"I need to know what happened," Alex asked again, but this time with her inside voice (commander-like voice), "I don't know" Kara shouted

"How long has it been, since she passed out?" she asked

"About, uh, two, three minutes" the other Danvers replied back

"If I don't give her something, her brain and her heart are going to shut down. And I need to slow down her circulation" Alex stated as she paced back and forth, "How do you do that?" Kara asked

"Induce hypothermia"

"I can do it," Kara said, as she used her freeze breath to slow down Lena's circulation and within seconds her sinus rhythm was back to normal

Without realising, they both let out breaths they hadn't known they'd been holding, "For now she's stable, but we need to monitor her for the time being, we don't know what happened" Alex suggested

"Okay" Kara only stated.

Hours later, Lena woke up to bright lights, concrete walls, dressed in a steel-blue gown. She was out of it for just a minute and then memories that had transpired came rushing back to her like a speeding bullet.

As she was trying to comprehend it all, someone came into the room. "You're awake!" the Kryptonian exclaimed as she walked towards her and kissed her temple

"What happened?" she asked sitting up

"You passed out, Lena" she only said

"Yeah, I remember, I was in a meeting then everything went black, I remember hearing distinct voices, then nothing," she said trying to understand what had happened

"When was the last time you had a good night sleep?" Kara asked seeming worried

"I uh...I-...I don't really know, I've been busy" the Luthor answered truthfully as if it were something normal, to not at least rest, considering she was carrying another being inside her body

"Lena!?" Kara shrieked,

Lena just stared at her like it wasn't a big deal to her, but then Kara called her name again.

"Lena." The way she called her name, was it supposed to mean something? Yes, absolutely yes, it was supposed to grab her attention, to bring her back to reality, away from getting lost in her head

She didn't say a word, just looked into those blue eyes just like the blue-eyed looked into those breath-taking green eyes

And that's when they started talking, not verbally though, neither said a single word yet they were having the conversation.

"you haven't been sleeping nor eating have you?"

"no"

"Lena...!"

"I know, I know I know, I'm sorry"

"I don't need you to be sorry, I need you to be safe and okay"

"I know darling, I know"

"Promise me, you'll be okay"

"Pinky promise"

*End of their non-verbal communication*

"C'mon let me take you home," Kara said as she grabbed Lena's arm to help her up.

Within minutes, they were at Lena's penthouse, Kara had flown at a slow pace since Lena wasn't exactly okay yet. Plus, Lena hated flying.

"What do you feel like eating?" the Kryptonian asked

"Italian would be good" Lena responded as she walked to the living room

"Okay I'll order in, but first, I'll draw you a bath," she stated as she walked towards the bathroom

While she was gone, Lena sat down thinking about everything that had happened throughout the whole week. And the truth was that she'd been feeling awful for days now, as if she'd come down with some sort of stomach bug or flu that just wouldn't leave. Ashen-faced and hollow-eyed, Lena had worn herself down in her efforts to working on her projects and avoiding to talk about the child she was carrying, with the one person who also seemed to be avoiding the talk herself.

A part of her wondered and hoped that the child was Kara's, it gave her some sort of reassurance that everything would be okay. That she would get the life she was once denied herself, that her baby would have the family she didn't have.

That having Kara as a mom, would be amazingly good, Kara always radiated warmth all around her, so surely the baby would grow up in a loving environment. With an amazing family.

But then, the other part of her brain reminds her that, there is a possibility that the baby isn't Kara's. It could be William's. COULD BE.
