The Baristas (Josh x Mully)

(A/U Hello Honeybunches! I just wanted to say that this idea is NOT originally mine. I read it in a one shot book and wanted to try writing it myself. I'll still change a few things, but all credit for the idea goes to the original author. And to the original author (if you see this), I loved your book! Ok luv you guys!)

Mully Pov

"So why do you think you'll be good for this job?" The manager asks.

"Well, I have a really good memory and can work fast without messing up," I reply.

"Ok, when can you start?" The manager asks.

"Anytime," I reply.

"Come in at 8AM tomorrow. I'll have one of the employees train you. I expect good work from you," the manager says.

"Thank you," I shake his hand and get up. I haven't had a job in 3 months. I'm falling behind on my rent and I need to find a new job. College always catches up to you. I walk back to my apartment.

"Mullen!" I jump. "When are you going to pay me?" My landlord yells at me.

"Soon Gary!" I yell back at him and race inside. I get up to my apartment and crawl into my bed, not even bothering to get into pajamas.

Time skip to morning

I open my eyes and see all the light shining in. Shit, I think, I forgot to close the blinds last night. I look over at my clock. 7:30, I need to get ready! I race around and change my hoodie and pants. Underwear can wait. I grabbed my keys and raced out of my apartment.

"When are you go-" Gary starts.

"Soon!" I yell. I race down the street and get to the coffee shop at 7:58. I get inside and look for an employee I recognize. I don't see anyone. 

"Are you Mullen?" A voice asks.

"Mully, but yeah," I say.

"Great, I'm Josh," the man said. Wow, he was attractive. He had brown hair, with a beanie on. Slight stubble on his chin, and amazing blue eyes. He was shorter than me, but seemed older. He was very skinny compared to me. 

"Hey Josh, you're beautiful," I whisper out.

"What?" Josh asks.

"Nothing, it's nice to meet you," I put my hand out.

"Nice to meet you too. I'm the employee that David (the manager) assigned to train you," he shakes it. He has a firm grip on my hand.

"I look forward to working with you," I say.

"Me too," Josh says. He shows me the ropes of the coffee shop. He got me an apron and a name tag. I stay working there for 2 months. It's now December. I quickly become friends with Josh, as he is the only not serious employee there. I get to meet his friends, Eddie, Grant, and Gaege. Soon I'm falling for him. It's not hard with those gorgeous blue eyes he has. I imagine kissing him and feeling the stubble on his chin on mine. 

"It's overflowing," a voice says. Oops, I forgot, I'm at work and I can't think about this. Otherwise things, uh, happen. Down there. I quickly take the cup away. 

"Sorry," I say.

"It's fine, we all zone out sometimes," Josh says. He smiles and it makes my heart flutter. I quickly realize I'm staring at him and rip my eyes away from him. "Do you want to hang out tonight after work?" He changes the subject.

"Sure, are the boys meeting us here?" I ask.

"I was, uh, thinking it could be just us," Josh says. I see a blush forming on his cheeks. 

"Sure," I say. WHY DO I KEEP SAYING SURE!? I think. "What time and where?"

"Well, I thought just right after work, and we could go to the park close by and get some hot chocolate," Josh says. 

"Sure, I'll wait for you?" I ask.

"K," Josh says and walks away. Did he just ask me on a date? I think. No, we're just friends and I'm the weird one. He probably just wants to spend time with me without the of the boys. But isn't that the definition of a date? Ugh! 

Time skip until after work

I meet Josh outside of the coffee shop. It's freezing cold since it's December. It's lightly snowing outside. I'm wrapped up in a scarf and I have some gloves and I'm wearing my winter jacket. Josh on the other hand is just wearing some gloves and a black sweatshirt. 

"Aren't you cold?" I ask. I'm all dressed up and I'm still shivering. 

"Nope," Josh says. "Come on lets go." I follow him to the park. We get out hot cocoa and sit down on a bench nearby. We sip out hot cocoa slowly and sit in silence. I let my hand down onto the bench. Soon I feel something on top of it. Josh's hand on top of it. I don't say anything, but I interlock my fingers with him. We stay like that for a while and finish our hot chocolates. 

"Mully?"

"Hmm?"

"I've, uh, sort of liked you for a while," Josh says. 

"Me too mate," I smile I at him. There's a lot of people around, so I don't kiss him, but if we were alone, you don't want to know what I'd do to him. 

We start dating the next day. The boys are happy for us and Gaege just yells,

"I knew it! I shipped it! It came true!" We all laugh.
