-Chapter 10-

"Sky-" he started to say and I cut him

"If I agree then I will lie and I don't like to lie," I said to him he smiled a little and got up to hug me

"let the doctor take a look at that when we get back," he said looking at the cut in my eyebrow. I rolled my eyes and laughed a little

after some time we got to the base, Lili was in my arms

"Owen said that as soon as we get here we need to go to the meeting room," he said and I nodded

we walked to the meeting room and opened the door

"my little girl," Rose said walking quickly towards me

"thank you," she said to me. I smiled and passed Lili to her, she was still sleeping

after that other woman who I still haven't met walked into the room probably a doctor, before I could say something Luke dragged away

"Owen also said that after you give Lili to Rose we need to go to the command room," he said after he saw my confused look

we walked to the command room and Luke opened the door. the whole team stood there with an angry Owen and David

"smart move you did there supergirl," Natalia said with a smirk. she is probably referring to the fact that because Owen and David said that the wife is the first priority they cant punish me. before I could answer her David spoke

"Not now Simmons" David said. yeah he is angry

"Harris what did I tell you about not leaving your partner?" Owen said in a deadly voice

"there wasn't any other option we needed to save the girl and she is afraid of guys and had a gun if Luke would have walked there you can't know what she would have done" I explained

"then tell us we will figure something out or sometimes you just cant save all of them" Owen said.

"and now wasn't this time" I answered.

"Sky Luke came back looking for you but what if next time he cants? what if next time you and the girl will die?" Jaxon said. I forgot all of them were here

"at least I gave her better odds" I replied to Jaxon.

"I have to say in her defense she didn't need me, when I came back she stood with a gun and two dead guys beside her," Luke said and Jaxon glared at him. at least someone on my side

"that doesn't matter. here in this place, you stick to the rules, they are here for a reason to save you from dying, the rules-"

"THE RULES KILLED MY DAD" I yelled to all of them to hear. they all shut up.

my dad saved his friend and he made that call but his teammates could have got to him in time to save him but his chief ordered them not to, because of the rules.

"I didn't bring him up for pity but to show that the rules can also kill you," I said in a strong voice. I want to make my point clear not to get pity looks

"she is right you know," Natalia said I gave her a small smile

"I second that," Eli said. I smiled at her too. that's nice of them to stand up to me in front of the chief.

"Simmons and warren out," David said. Natalie raised her hands in mock surrender which almost made me laugh and they both went out

"sometimes in the worst cases yes, you are right but that doesn't mean that you can ignore the rules Skyler, now you will be getting a punishment, I can't punish you because of that stunt you pulled but I got someone who can," David said. he went outside to get the person he was talking about and returned right away, he probably already was here waiting. they went into the room. Oh, it's Jonathan Chief, King.

"What's going on?" King asked. he looked at all of us and I think his eyes linger on me a little longer before he looked back on David but maybe it's my imagination

"King I told you the situation and I need you to decide a proper punishment" David explained to King

"on who?" he asked smirking

"Skyler Harris," David said. King stopped smirking and got back to his stone facade

"I can't," King said which made me confused, and David too but before any of us could say something Jaxon spoke

"David, Owen can I talk to you outside for a minute? "Jaxon said. David nodded and Jaxon also told King to come. King, David, Owen and Jaxom went outside

"What's going on?" I looked at Luke and Lanny. they had a guilty look like they know something

"I don't know," Lanny said. he is lying. I glared at him

"Sky it's not our place to tell you," Luke said, I looked at him confused but before I could say something about that I remembered something 

"doesn't he supposed to be on a mission with my brother?" I asked confused

"it has been delayed in two days," Luke said

"wait does my brother know about-" before I could finish my sentence Luke answered

"no, at least not yet" I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. if Nate knew I would be in trouble

"Okay wait back to the topic what reason can there be that he can't give me punishment?" I asked still very confused. they stayed quiet

"What is it?" I asked getting annoyed

before I could make them tell me Owen, King, David and Jaxon came back

"you won't be getting a punishment this time but don't let it happen again" David said to me

"why?" I asked, they all stayed quiet

"Harris leave it," David said in a warning tone

"If someone can't give punishment to someone it's because of one, he is lower rank then me two, he can't because of something in the rules stopping him or three, because of something that can cloud his judgment like family or some sort of relation to me, it's not one I don't think its two and I don't know you but you are familiar to me so it's probably three," I said. they all looked at me weirdly

"I read the book they give you when you start training and memorized it," I said and shrugged

"great that's just great, anyway if we are done here-" Jaxon started to say but I cut him

"We are not, what are you not telling me?!" I said with a deadly voice

"Matthew call Jonathan," David said and King nodded. they all started talking with each other and didn't notice I froze
