The Animal In Me

Protective and territorial. 

Cautious and wild.

Vicious and merciless.

Cold and hard.

Bared teeth and sharp claws.

Ears back and gruesome snarls

Unmovable and unshakable

Strong and untamable...

This is what you get when someone threatens my pack as a whole or individually 

Gentle and kind

Warm and loving

Goofy and playful

Loud and open

Aware and watching

Protective but silly 

Guarded but friendly 

Mothering and willing

Them before me no matter my wellness

Hidden teeth and covered claws

The wolf in sheep clothing hiding in plain sight 

This is what you get when all is well and no threat is near.

I still listen I still watch I am the protector of my pack  but I will not bite until I hear your whispered threats over my warning growls. I pose no threat until a threat forces itself on those I care for whether big or small. I protect those closest to me and trust few that come near them. I will make no moves until it is needed. I believe everyone has an animal in them some just choose to ignore it others cannot. 

This is the unruly animal in me. It is me no matter my opinion or anyone else on it. Take it or leave it, it makes no difference to me.

The idea for this story actually came from my sister about a month ago. I put this together with a little bit of her help and came out with this short story. This story is a little bit different in topic (well in general minus the weird writing style)  from what is typically in this mini book of sorts but I enjoyed writing it and liked the idea of having something a little different in here. I will likely start putting more like this in here.
