The next morning, yawning, Y/N walked into the lobby, after flipping on her earpiece that translated the others' languages for her. Then she stopped, gaping in surprise at what was awaiting her in the lobby.

China had appeared in their room, telling them to meet him in the downstairs in ten minutes, while North screamed at him to get out, throwing a shoe that the red country had nimbly dodged.

And here was the thing that he had wanted them to see.

There was a large pile of foodstuffs in the center of the marble room- various vegetables, meats, fruits, and sweets. China was standing smugly beside it, Hae and SH with him.

"Christmas came early," the red Countryhuman said. "I brought presents."

"Christmas?" SH asked curiously. "We haven't celebrated that... ever."

"Ah." China patted the white province's head. "North's selective holidays."

"What even is half a' this stuff?" Hae gushed, picking up a package. "Ah can't read Chinese."

"Y/N!" SH had spotted her, running over and throwing her arms around the girl. "It's so good to see you again!"

"You too." Y/N smiled, squeezing her. "I missed you." The Provincehuman had taken off for South Hamgyong province a couple days ago, as soon as North had deemed her well.

There was still an ugly gash on her forehead, from where America had thrown her into the wall, and she winced if she looked into bright lights, or heard loud noises, but besides that, she was as chipper as ever.

"They're red bean cakes." China took the package from Hae, opening it. "Eat as much as you like."

"Hh?!" someone gasped, and a white blur ran past Y/N and SH. "Mochi?!" Nipponia snatched a box. "It's been so long!"

"What is all of this?" North asked, coming down.

      "Food." China smiled.

The Korean Countryhuman narrowed his eye. "And what will it cost?"

"Now, North." China placed a hand on his chest in mock offense. "Why ever do you think that this would cost you?"

"Your 'presents' always cost something," North growled, taking the box from Hae.

      "I'm going to be honest-"

      "That's a first."

"I'm sick of living off of rations, and your food isn't quite up to my standards." China handed Hae a leek. "This is free, for once. I can spare enough products, now that I'm not selling to the other side."

Hae gaped at the leek. "This is huge! Why's it so big?"

"Probably GMOs," Nipponia said, biting into some mochi with her sharp fangs. China nodded.

"Fine." North shoved the package of mochi back into Hae's arms. "As long as my people get some, too. And no Capitalist goods."

"North- they're free. They can't be Capitalist goods," China said. "And more deliveries are already on their way."

"Just because they're free, doesn't mean they were made without exploitation," North muttered.

Despite his earlier refusal, Y/N could see that her boyfriend was relieved. It was winter, and the country didn't have much food, due to floods earlier in the year. Before the war, their biggest problem had been starvation.
