        "North! North, please wake up!"

Y/N held his face between her hands. It had the same blue background, the same red band and white stripes.

His eyes opened- one still white, and the other still a black cavity. His eyepatch was discarded on the ground.

"Y/N?" he croaked, and relief immediately flooded her.

But his next words made her blood run cold, her heart stopping in her chest.

      "Who... are you?"

________  Several months earlier

Y/N walked quickly down the dark corridor, steps echoing on the white marble. The swish of her red skirt was the only sound.

She climbed to the top floor, sliding open one of the two doors, the one on the right. It was North's office, which had recently been converted into a base of operations for the war. The desk had been removed, and replaced with a large square table, over which the occupants of the room were leaning.

Lots of eyes turned to her as she walked in, sliding the door shut behind her.

"Y/N," North said gruffly. "You're back."

Though the country's tone was gruff, relief lurked under it. Ever since Y/N had been kidnapped by America, North hadn't liked to let the girl out of his sight. He didn't want to be clingy, though, and let her have the freedom to wander around the high-rise.

Ever since the war started, Y/N was allowed to be unsupervised. It was obvious that she wasn't spying on them now.

Though with the chaos of the military preparations- the provinces running in and out, the countries that came and went, the soldiers guarding the halls, and the Party officials that came to speak to North- she was rarely ever alone.

"Took you long enough," a tall tri-coloured country said in Russian, and a girl Countryhuman with cat ears and a tail slapped his shoulder.

"Don't be rude." Nipponia's tone was scolding, but her ears were perked in good humour.

"Ignore my son-" an even taller red country said. "He has no manners."

This was the newest member of their little crew- the CCCP, the country that they had raised from the dead last week.

"U-Um, it's okay," Y/N stammered, placing the tray of drinks that she had brought up on the side table. The Communist country scared her a little- he was over six-foot, and didn't smile much. "I just got held-up in the kitchen."

Someone had been having some 'fun' with one of the female cooks.

"Where's China?" North growled, and Y/N blushed. He noticed. "For the Supreme Leader's sake." Whipping out his phone, he placed a call.

"China, you bastard. Get in here, and leave my staff alone." He glowered as he received an answer. "Fuck you." Hanging up, the Korean Countryhuman sighed. "He's one of our biggest allies?"

"He has been useful," Chagang said from the corner. He and South Pyongan were the only provinces in the capital today- the others were taking care of their own lands. "And it's always good to have China's intelligence on our side."

North growled. "Whatever. Let's just get back to work."

Y/N took her place in a chair in the corner. She didn't know much about military terms and tactics, but wanted to stay in the office for safety.
