Endearment

Parang naubusan ako ng salita. Hindi agad ako nakasagot.

At dahil hindi ko talaga alam kung ano ang sasabihin, naglakad nalang ako palapit sa kanya. Napatuwid naman nang tindig si Hendrick. His hands now on his pocket; his hawk-like eyes focused on me. With the profound sunlight, his brown eyes became clearer to look at. Sa mga normal niyang suot, gwapo na talaga s'ya. And now that he's in his corporate attire, he looks drop dead gorgeous. I gulped.

"Uhh... gusto mong pumasok?" that was my first words.

His forehead creased, seems confused by what i just asked.

"Do you want me to?"

"I mean, you might wanna meet my friends."

"I'm good, really. I was just checking if you're fine."

"And I'm fine." agaran kong sagot.

But he looks a bit hesitant. Hindi na siya nakatingin sa'kin ngayon.

"It's okay. E-enjoy your time with them. I'm sorry for bothering you."

The other part of me sensed something different. Hindi ko tuloy mapigilan ang kaunting ngiti sa labi at ang magtanong,

"Are you jealous?" I meaningfully asked, confident with my mere assumption.

"Is there something I have to be jealous of?" he eyed on me and slightly tilted his head.

"Uh... nothing. Wala naman."

"Then I'm not. And even so, I will not let myself consumed by my envy, baby. I will still pursue you no matter what."

"Ah..." I am out of words again. Now, i regret that i raised such query. Bad question again, Shenna Mae!

"O-okay! See you later." I said it to save face dahil baka hindi ko na kaya ang mga susunod pang pag-uusap, might as well cut it as soon as possible! But a small smile plastered all over my face.

"See you." aniya at pumasok na muli sa sasakyan.

I waited outside until his car wasn't visible anymore bago ako tuluyan nang pumasok sa loob.

"Is there any problem?" Marky worriedly asked.

Napabalik naman ako sa wisyo nang bigla niyang itanong iyon. I was smiling crazily while heading back. Napa-upo ako habang 'yung mga mata ng dalawa ay makahulugang nakatingin sa akin.

"What?" I curiously asked but I still cannot hide my smile.

"Why do I feel like... you're blooming?" Si Cindy.

Napakunot naman ako ng noo.

"Huh? No! Y-you must be delusional." I rolled eyes.

"Shenna, ha. Parang may tinatago ka sa'min!" asik pa ni Marky.

"Oo nga! Who called you earlier and why are you smiling like that?" Cindy added.

Natawa ako sa dalawa.

"Kayo talaga! Wala! Wala 'yun. I mean I don't know... I'm not quite s-sure."

Nagulat ako nang hampasin ako ni Marky sa may balikat ko, both his eyes wide-open.

"At meron nga talaga?!"

"Kailan pa ha, inggrata ka?" sunod-sunod na buwelta ni Marky.

At hindi ko maipinta ang facial reaction ni Cindy. She was shocked.

"Basta ba Shenna, mapagkakatiwalaan 'yan! Makakatikim talaga 'yan sa'kin 'pag sinaktan ka n'yan!"

Wala akong ibang nagawa kundi ang matawa.
