Pack business isn't Stevie's strong suit. She's too nice and she can't be assertive with people. She's a people pleaser and every problem that arises her gut answer is always "whatever will make you the happiest" but she's had to stop herself from saying that countless times because she has to think about what will be best for her pack but even so, she always ends the answer with "but whatever will make you happy" and it sucks.

She groans seeing that item on her agenda-quarterly pack meeting- but she turns to Don Henley who is dressing silently and she can tell just by looking at him that somethings wrong.

The pair met in High School, he's one of the packs best hunters and they are a good looking pair together. He's tall with brown curly hair and beautiful blue eyes and he's muscular very muscular. The muscles Stevie could live without, but despite the cocky exterior he posses and the really bad attitude she does love him to a point and she would like to be his mate but deep down she knows that if he was her mate, their wolves would've reacted already because you can find your mate at sixteen when a wolf is officially mature. Even though Don would make a really good Alpha.

"What's the matter, baby?" She asks.

"Stevie I'm not your mate, you and I both know that. I'm ready to start actively looking for mine." He bites his lip.

"But Don we've got a good thing going for us." Stevie whines.

"I know baby, but I'm ready to have a family. My sister just had a pup and she's so cute and I really want my own. You're the Alpha-Female..." He starts.

"Luna." She cuts him off.

"Fine Luna...but even then you're downgrading yourself you don't think you can be the Alpha and you want an Alpha to your Luna. But you should be aching for a child now yourself so you have someone to take over for you. You hate the job." Don sighs.

"No, I don't want kids. Sure I love them, but I don't want one. Christopher's child will take over for me." Stevie tells him.

"Stevie when you find your mate, you're going to ache for a child and that's just how it goes," Don tells her.

"Maybe so, but I'm not having a child." She spits.

"Fine, whatever. Hey, you've gotta get ready for that meeting and I'm due to go hunt." Don nods.

"What about our arrangement?" Stevie questions.

"How about this, we'll be together until one of us finds their mate and then we'll stop. Fair?" Don asks.

"Fair." She nods.

"Alright, I'll see you later." He nods kissing her before exiting the room.

Stevie huffs and falls back into the bed. Eventually, she rolls onto her stomach to start getting ready for the day.

The packhouse is the main house on the Moonlight Packs land. It's a giant apartment complex really. The first story of the packhouse has a kitchen, dining room, living area, and an office for the Alpha but she doesn't use it simply because it reaks of her father's pipe tobacco and people are in and out of it so she's never alone to work. There is also a board room for the quarterly pack meetings. Then there's the basement where the Omegas live. Each Omega, except for mated wolves, is given a room and their own dining, kitchen, and living area. There are only about ten non-mated Omegas...Stevie thinks, she's never really associated with the Omegas not because she's the Alpha that doesn't care about them, she does...she cares about all of her pack members, it's just that you're taught from a young age in the pack that Omegas are just the servants and because they aren't at a normal standing you just don't associate. Her father would though, but when she tried to her friends advised against it. The top three floors of the packhouse are filled with bedrooms and ensuites for the normal non-mated wolves starting at the age of 18 when they graduate college until they find their mate unless they want to stay living in their parent's house. The mated wolves get a plot of land and they can build a house on the land so they have privacy and can raise their families in peace. Even the mated Omegas get land. The only mated couple that lives within the packhouse is Barbara and Jess Nicks. Once Jess retired as the Alpha they had the choice of building a house for Stevie and staying in their mansion,  but they chose to just give Stevie the mansion and to move into the packhouse.

But she just dislikes the packhouse because there are so many people they're loud and obnoxious. She waves to the group of pups that are playing on the playground towards the side of the house and then she pushes her way into the packhouse.

"Good Afternoon Ma'am can I get you some tea?" A woman asks.

"Um,  Iced if you have it...I'm sorry, who are you?" Stevie questions.

"Callah dumbass"  her wolf-Lily-says in her head.

"That may be her wolf's name but I don't know what hers is," Stevie replies through their mind link.

"Oh, right Sorry. Ruth, I'm Rutheda Buckingham I'm the cook." She smiles.

"Ruth, I'll take Iced if you have it." Stevie grins back.

"My son just made some lemon if that's okay." She nods.

"I'm more raspberry but that'll be fine. Can you put like a spoonful of sugar in it for me?" She asks

"Absolutely." Ruth nods walking away.

They were halfway through the meeting when a ruckus came from the open window of the conference room and everyone including Jess and Stevie saw what was happening. Stevie gasped and her hand fell to her stomach as a tingle rose under the red skirt she was wearing.

"MATE! ADAMS! MATE!" Lily gasps in her head

"Daddy who is that?" Stevie questions.

"Lindsey Buckingham an Omega. I've never seen his wolf before. He gets picked on a lot and beat up there was a something about bruised ribs a few weeks ago because Christopher's friend Dean that big guy beat him a little too hard." Jess explains.

"Oh my god, why wasn't I told. He should've been punished." Stevie shakes her head.

"It's not that simple when dealing with Omegas Teedee, you know that." Jess sighs.

"I know but still there are consequences for fighting amongst the pack. YOU ALL KNOW THIS SO WHY WASN'T I TOLD!" Stevie demands.

"He's just a stupid Omega." Mick Fleetwood the pack trainer squawks.

"I knew about it Stevie," John McVie her Beta sighs.

"What did you do about it?" Stevie questions.

"I didn't do anything about it, because he's  an omega." John shrug,s.

"Okay, fine. He's an Omega. Omegas aren't allowed to shift unless they're prompted. Did you not just see what happened. And you expect me to believe that that giant, jet black wolf is an Omega." Stevie points.

"The Buckingham's were a transfer about thirty years ago. They might have some lineage within their line. I don't know, but here Teedee, they are Omegas." Jess scolds.

"Yeah, well, one of them is about to get killed and I have to go save their asses so thank you very much." Stevie barks shifting in the middle of the room and jumping through the window.
