"Bumalik ka na don. Dito lang ako," sabi ko habang malapit parin yung mukha namin sa isa't-isa. I heard their coach calling all the players for warm-up. Kumpleto na siguro yung players unlike kanina na halos kami lang nila Mark yung tao.
He still holding my face. Umiwas ako ng tingin but he raised my chin to looked at him.
I feel a sudden movement inside my stomach and my heart was about to jump out of my chest.
"No. I won't leave you here alone," he said in a serious tone. "You're here to support me, right? I won't go back there without you."
Nakahinga na 'ko ng maluwag ng tumayo siya at in-offer yung kamay niya para tumayo doon at maglakad pabalik sa gymnasium. I gave my hand and we walked straight to the bleachers. Almost all of his co-players looked at us when we were walking while holding hands. Yumuko na lang ako dahil nakakahiya.
I hate getting attention from other people. Lalo na kung dahil 'yon kay Mark. I wanted our relationship to be in private. Ayokong lantaran. I'm proud that he's my boyfriend but I don't want gossips to spread around the campus.
"Are you okay?" tanong niya ng makaupo kami sa ibabang bahagi ng bleachers. Tinulungan niya 'kong ilapag yung bag ko sa gilid.
I gave him a small smile.
"I'm okay," I reassured him.
He grinned when he looked at my reaction. "When you say you're okay, I know you're not."
Naglakad siya sa lugar kung nasaan sila Bridge at Line. Nag-usap sila. Hindi ko alam kung tungkol saan yung pinag-uusapan nila dahil umalis si Line sandali at pagbalik ay may dala na siyang paper bag na inabot niya kay Mark.
Ilang minuto na yata akong nakatigtig sa kanya ng bumalik siya sa tabi ko at inilatag yung mga pagkain na binili namin sa drive thru kanina. Spaghetti with chicken and rice. French fries, ice cream sundae, burger and drinks. Sa tingin niya ba kaya kong ubusin lahat ng hinain niya sa harap ko?
"Eat," he said softly.
"Busog pa nga 'ko," pagtatanggi ko.
He shooked his head then he open the ice cream sundae and french fries. I just looked somewhere because of the awkwardness.
I looked at him while he dip the fries on the ice cream sundae. I just watched him doing that. How did he know that's what I did everytime I'm eating fries and ice cream?
He pout his lip when he's looking at me. Nagpapaawa ba siya na kainin ko 'yon?
Nag-start na mag-warm up yung mga kagrupo niya pero siya, nandoon parin sa tabi ko. Nakakahiya sa coach nila dahil siya pa naman yung captain ball ng team nila pero siya pa yung hindi nakikipag-cooperate.
"Your team needs you. Mag-training ka na doon," I convince him a lot of times pero hindi siya nakikinig sa'kin.
"In one condition," he put the ice cream sundae cup on my hand. "I will go there when you eat this." He raise the fries in front of me like it was an airplane. Wala kong nagawa kung hindi kainin 'yon dahil alam kong hindi talaga siya babalik don hangga't hindi niya nasisiguradong nakain ko 'yon.
"Happy?" I said sarcastically. Pilit kong nginuya yung fries na sinubo niya sa'kin.
I heard him chuckled.
Tinignan ko siya ng masama habang puno yung bibig ko.
"Do your promise. Bumalik ka na don."
"Okay," He leaned and gave me a quick smack on the lip. I was dumbfounded while I watched him walking away from me.
