I found myself now in the cafeteria, eating a great salad that has not gone bad like yesterday's salad. At least my lunch was making my day this time. I sat at my usual table waiting on Shaylen like I usually would and to my surprise, Shaylen was making her way over with Tanner.

"Hey Selena," Tanner smiled and they both take a seat in front of me.

"Hey guys," I smiled back at them and continued on eating my delicious salad. It sure was good today.

"Justin will be going us, he's just in the bathroom..." Tanner spoke too soon as Justin showed up beside me.

"I heard my name. Better not be talking smack about me," he chuckled as took a seat beside me. We all greeted Justin with warm smiles and conversation scattered across the table. Justin and Tanner reminisced about many memories as Shaylen and I sat and listened to their stories. They both had such an interesting childhood. We didn't realize how much of a troublemaker Tanner was when he was next to Justin. He comes off so mature, I would've never thought. Tanner has sure grown up since those days.

Tanner continued speaking with Justin about hockey since they used to play the sport together back in Canada and that's where Shaylen and I totally zoned out. We weren't that interested in sports and we didn't have a clue what both of the boys were talking about. I decided to go on Instagram while they continued their deep conversation.

I strolled through my feed and I found nothing interesting. I liked a few picture here and there but nothing was really capturing my interest. But that was until I fell upon Alex new Instagram post. I was smitten.

Did he ever look good. Alex why do you do this to me? I thought to myself. I was a simple picture with a simple caption but I loved it. I loved him. I couldn't help but stare at him. I don't know what made him push himself away from me but I sure do this his smile every day, his warm hugs and his kisses against my cheek. Why would you treat someone who you love this way Alex? I don't understand what's running through your head right now.

I decided not to like the picture and just continued to scroll through but I quickly became bored and bothered by Alex. It must have shown on my face because Justin turned to me with his brows narrowed and sympathetic eyes.

"Are you alright, Selena?" He asked me and I turned to him, placing my phone down on the table. I took a breath before speaking.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I forced a smiled to Justin. "Just been a bad couple of days that's all." I tried to shake it off but Justin continued to speak.

"Hopefully everything works out for you," he formed a warm smile on his lips with a sparkle in his eye. I couldn't help but smile back at him.

"Yeah. That's the hope...anyway...what do you think of your new school?" I changed the subject. I didn't want to stay on the subject anymore. I wanted to forget about Alex for a while. Maybe speaking to Justin and getting to know him a little better will change my ideas.
