CHAPTER 17

CELINE'S POV

I reached the venue 15 minutes before the guests would start coming in. I quickly made rounds everywhere checking the decorations. I went to have a talk with the chef about the deserts.

Soon the guests stared coming in, I went and stood beside Carol, my Co worker to greet the guests.

When is he coming?

I glanced at my watch, he is late.

Did he forget? Should I call him?
No!how can he forget, after all it is his party.

A familiar black limo arrived and I saw him come out of it. My breath hitched, he was looking so handsome.
It was the suit that I chose for him.
The only difference was he looked more devilishly handsome than I imagined. I couldn't get a proper look at him since the paparazzi were surrounding him.
I felt a tap on my shoulder, I turned and saw Carol. She whispered saying that the chef wanted to change the deserts.
I groaned and left to meet the chef.

Very good timing. I was enjoying my view.

I talked with the chef rather hastily and made my way to the main hall.
As soon as I came, my eyes searched for him. I have been feeling so much for him, especially after that moment yesterday. Then I see him in the middle of the hall talking with some business partners.
I smiled brightly, seeing him in the suit I chose and the way He was talking. His aura screamed power and dangerous. My smile soon faded as I saw a blonde sticking to his side. She was clinging on him as if he was going to vanish. I scowled at her behavior.

She must be his date.
What a good choice Mr Harper..
( note the sarcasm)

I was glaring at her all the while, that I didn't notice that his gaze was already on me. I shifted my eyes to meet his. I was immediately drawn to him, his green eyes, I can easily identify him in the whole group of men.

Why does he have such effect on me?
I have been thinking about him all day.
Why? Could I be possibly falling for him? No...

" You can't deny your feelings every time Celine ".

Maybe then....

I didn't even notice that I was already walking in their direction.
" Good evening sir, I hope you are enjoying the party" I said.

He cleared his throat.
" Good evening Ms Carter, indeed I am impressed. Meet Sandra here my date".

" Umm. Hello Maam, please enjoy your evening " I fake smiled at her.

" Of course I will, I have him to give me company, right baby?" she said seductively and pressed herself to him.
I rolled my eyes at her and saw Daniel, he didn't bother replying her as he kept staring at me.

Are the air conditioners put off?
It is getting hotter here.

" Baby will you not ask memory a dance? Come on let's dance " she said and pulled him with her.

I released a breath that I was holding as I watched them disappear in the crowd. The event went on, it was now the after party. There were people still dancing, some were drinking and chatting.
And me sitting at the corner table and enjoying my pastry alone. I wished I had somebody to give me company.
As I was eating a man approached me.
" Hey! I am Drake. Why is such a beautiful lady sitting alone?" He smirked.

I rolled my eyes. Cliche!

" Hey! Nice to meet you Drake. I don't mind being alone " I said.

" Care to join me for a dance " he extended his hand.

" umm.no thank you, I am not interested to dance now " I said.

" Oh come on, live a little " he said and pulled me up by grabbing my hand.

" Hey I said I don't want to dance " I said but he ignored me.
"Drake I..." I said but was cut by a voice.

"She said no"  that voice sent shivers down my spine as I recognized it.
We turned around, and he stood in his glory, his eyes were glaring at Drake as he pulled me out of his arms and held my waist.
" Hey man I didn't know she was your woman. " he said and walked away.

His woman? My heart is beating so loudly.

Before I could say anything he pulled me to the dance floor.

" Mr Harper what are you doing? " I said as he put his hand on my waist and pulled me closer to him. I kept my hands on his chest while maintaining eye contact.

" Daniel. Call me Daniel and I don't want any buts " he said.
I nodded nervously.
" Then you can call me Celine " I said and smiled blushing.

He chuckled as we continued dancing. No one spoke, just we were lost in each others eyes and swaying to the music. My breathing became heavy as he pulled me closer to him.

" Daniel.." I stared but nothing came out. He pushed me away from him, twirled me and pulled me back. But this time my back was on his front, his arms wrapped around me.

It feels so good. He is very warm.

" Yes Celine " he asked huskily. His breath was fanning my neck. I closed my eyes enjoying the feeling.
He turned me around.
" You are looking very stunning today" he said.

" Thank you. You don't look bad yourself " I blushed.

" That I am. Maybe the one who chose this suit should be given credits right?" He smirked.

" Umm..yes I think that person did a great job. It suits you a lot " I said looking into his eyes.

He muttered something under his breath. When he was about to answer, we were interrupted my loud cheers, indicating the dance was over. The lights changed back to normal. I freed myself from his arms and went to drink some water.

Why did I say it like that?
Stupid Celine.

After some time, the hall was getting empty. The guests stared leaving.
Carol said goodbyes and left with her husband.

I was one of the last person to leave.
I came out and waited for the taxi.
But none came so I decided to walk ahead hoping to catch a taxi.
It was very cold, I wrapped my arms around me and kept walking.

Taxi!!! It was like all the taxis have vanished.

Just as the thought came of me walking all the way home,  a honk came. I turned to see a black tinted car following me slowly.
Shit! I increased my foot steps as the car kept following.

" Celine " a voice came from behind.

I turned to see Daniel in the car. I sighed in relief.
" Come on get in or you will catch cold" he said.

" Daniel? You scared the shit out of me. Don't bother I will catch a taxi. Thank you" I said.

" Celine get in now or I will personally put you in the car " he threatened.

" You will not" I said shocked.

" Try me darling " he said with his signature smirk.

I stood there rooted to my spot not knowing what to do.

" Fine you left me with no choice " he said as he walked towards me.
