Amara held tightly to the red veil while Laila was finishing up her makeup. Today was it ; the official wedding day. Laila looked incredible in her wedding gown, like a queen, ready to meet her king. The fine details of gold sewn into the red fabric matched the maang tikka that was placed on her forehead, amongst the other gold jewellery that she had adorned.

She was done with the final touches of her eye makeup and placed her brushes down on to the vanity. She looked up to her sister, staring at her through the mirror in front of them both. Gently, Amara placed the veil on top of Laila's head, the final piece to her outfit.

"If Maa could see you now," she said, shedding a tear. Laila held onto Amara's hands that were placed on her shoulders, squeezing it tightly with affection.

"She is, Mara. I can feel them both here, with us right now," Laila replied. Just as the sisters were having a moment, a certain curly haired boy, followed by Amara's friends, knocked on the door and entered the room.

"Hey, ladies. The groom's -" Timothée cut his sentence short as he laid his eyes upon the beautiful sisters. "Woah, you guys look beautiful," Luca muttered. Grace and Talia were also staring at the sisters, as if they were goddesses that had come down from heaven to bless them.

Laila and Amara giggled at their reactions. Timothée shook his head and cleared his throat. "Um, I was gonna say that, the groom's ready. Everyone's waiting for you, Laila."

Laila took in a deep breath and stood up. Amara was right behind her, straightening out her long dress, as Laila walked towards the door. She halted in her steps and turned to Amara, bringing her sister in front to stand by her side.

"I need you to do something for me," she ordered.

"Of course, didi," Amara replied. Laila then turned to Timothée and brought him to stand by her other side. She motioned to Luca, Talia and Grace to stand behind her, telling them to link their arms together.

"Actually, I need all of you to do something for me." Amara looped her arm with Laila's and Timothée did the same on the other side.

"Whatever you need, Laila," Timothée mentioned. His smile was dazzling, and so were the others.

"I want you guys to walk me to the mandap, and give me away, okay?" Amara smiled through her tears, her facade expressing both happiness and sadness. Her three friends behind her were trying their best to be cool, with Luca magnificently failing as he was already sobbing.

"Can you do that for me?" Laila asked again. Amara sniffed, then nodded her head.

"Okay, didi."

The guests were already seated when they arrived. As soon as the presence of the bride was made known, their boisterous chatter silenced. They watched in awe as Laila walked down the steps towards the beautifully decorated mandap, where a priest was waiting, along with her other Armie, Maverick, their wives and her groom.
