Sofia had been gently tucked into her bed four hours ago, after the commotion between her parents had simmered down. All of Luca's family members, were inside as well, willing themselves to go to sleep after a long day.

Amara sat on the lawn chairs, looking out towards the sea. Unlike everyone else, she couldn't let go of what had happened earlier that evening. In one moment, they were happy and jovial, then in the next, anguished.

She frowns as the night gets darker, and the wind grew colder. From afar, her friends watch her. There was no doubt Amara was the one most affected. Growing up without parents, Amara never knew what it was like to have a family.

Laila was her mother, father and sister, all in one and Amara would forever be grateful for her. But to be apart of a big family, was something she had always wanted. She had family back in India, but there were only a few of them who even acknowledged her.

Luca's family was different. The first time they had met her, they grew fond of her in an instant. She had a pure soul and an innocent spirit which made everyone love her. Over the years, she grew closer with the Ortiz family. She admitted them to be her real family.

So when Elena found out Mario had been cheating on her, Amara was taken by surprise. Elena and Mario had been married for the longest time. Stories of their loving relationship often gave Amara hope that one day, she would be a part of something as beautiful as what they had.

The repeating question of why was concurrently spinning in her head. Luca gets up from the porch steps, and walks over to her. Talia and Grace soon followed.

Amara hears him approach and smiles softly at him, her eyes filled with sympathy for him.

"You okay?" she asks, giving him a little side hug when he sits next to her.

"I should be asking you. I'm sorry you had to see all that earlier," he apologises.

"No, it's okay. I'm okay, I guess."

Talia questions, "You guess?"

Amara kept quiet not knowing how to answer.

"What's on your mind, Mars?" Grace asks.

"Just disappointed. Elena and Mario were like the perfect couple. The perfect parents."

"Why did he do that?" she continues. "Why would he cheat on Elena?"

"Some people are just not meant to be," Grace replies, a hint of sadness in her voice, only picked up by Talia and Luca.

"But they've been together for a really long time."

"People grow apart, Amara. They can fall out of love just as easily as they fall in love," Luca explains.

"Why do people have to grow apart? Why can't they just stay happy together and make it work?" Amara gushes out.
