"Of course I want to see mother, what type of question is that?" I narrowed my eyes irritated with James. I would always want to see mother!

Oscar came running up, "Guys come on we're about to l- oh hey Thelea, guess what I had for dinner last night?"

"What?"

"Seamore,"

"What?"

He swore jumping behind James as I tried grabbing him. I'm going to dig Seamore out of him if I have to.

"I'll eat you," I  yelled seeing him scream as I tried grabbing his arm.

"You can't make her choose between me and her mother! She's just starting to get to know me." Draven growled changing the subject, but I didn't like the way he took a step towards James. It looked scary.

"Mother and I," Mia muttered from beside him.

"Is that really necessary Mia?" Draven snapped at her angrily. his eyes were darker, not the pretty green I liked and even I felt something wrong in the air. It didn't smell like the peaceful beach anymore.

"Is everything okay here?"

"Father!" I smiled wrapping my arms around him, something that felt strange but right. He laughed patting my back, "Why didn't you and James come visit me?"

I missed their company this morning. But I was also excited to see mother and her beautiful face and hear her voice! I really missed her. And as much as I hated the other sirens, I wanted to see them too!

"You can't take her,"

Father let go of me and I grabbed Seamore from father's friend smiling as he crawled up my arm, "Did you miss me Seamore?" I asked him quietly patting his shell.

"Thelea will come back, she's simply going to see her mother. As much as you are her mate, she is her mother and I promised I'll bring her back,"

There was a lot of growling in the air which made me look up, between James who was looking annoyed, Oscar who was staring at me with wide eyes and Draven who was glaring at father. I wanted to growl too. Would Draven teach me that?

Why was Draven upset?

"How long?"

"Just a fortnight, she needs her sea, her water, she needs to spend more time with her mother as well. She's only eighteen Draven,"

I narrowed my eyes at the trees seeing a wolf,  ooh pretty wolf.

Draven's eyes met mine before he turned around and walked off, with Mia running behind him. I leaned my head on father's shoulder staring at them, was everything okay?

Why was he upset?

I didn't like it.

Our prey is getting away

"Come on Thelea, it's a long journey," I nodded following brother and father to the car jumping up. Maybe I can catch up on the sleep, I was tired after Mia made me run around all morning.

"Isn't Draven coming?" I asked confused as the car went the opposite way.

The water didn't feel the same anymore.

The waves were still crashing against the rocks, the surf piling onto the top of the rocks, the wind was still very loud at night and even the seaweed I wrapped around myself when it got cold felt rougher than usual.

And the water, well the water felt very cold.

I looked up from my rock, towards Land, it seemed to far away, just like always but this time I knew there were people on the land I knew. James said he would come say hi, but it's been three moon nights and he hasn't.
