“Y/N? Where are you?”
You could hear Luke calling out for you through your house. You didn't want to see him. You didn't want to see anyone.
“Come on Y/N. You sent me a text to meet you here and now you're hiding. That's not very fair.”
Hearing his voice made it better but worse. Your boyfriend had never liked Luke, thought you were cheating on him with Luke. That's why he broke up with you.
“Y/N!”
“Luke,” you speak in the calmest voice you can.
You can hear Luke pause and then thump towards the sound of your voice.
He opens the cupboard door.
“Y/N? What are you doing in here?”
“Hiding.”
“From what?”
Luke's voice was so soft and gentle and caring.
“Justin broke up with me.”
“That jerk! Never liked him anyway! I'll go give him the old one two!”
“We broke up because he thought I was cheating on him. With you,” you said in a rush.
Luke froze.
“And what did you tell him?”
“That it was a load of crap. And if he believed that then I may as well go.”
Luke wrapped his arms around your significantly smaller frame.
“I'm sorry.”
“Not your fault you wanted to be my best friend Luke.”
