Rebecca's apartment was relatively quiet that morning. Bexley was preoccupied by her I-pad while Rebecca caught up on emails.

Rebecca heard little footsteps coming into her office and she looked back to see her daughter walking up to her with a smile.

"You love me right?" She asked innocently and Rebecca nodded

"Of course I do" Rebecca said "what are you getting at?" She asked

"And since you love me, you should always be honest with me, right?" She said and Rebecca nodded once more

"Ok.. what do you wanna know?" Rebecca finally asked

"Who's my dad?" Bexley asked blatantly

Rebecca always knew she'd have to have this conversation at some point. She never got to the bottom of who Bexley's father was. It was a stressful time and she was drinking and sleeping around a lot, it never occurred to her that she would actually need to know who the father of her baby was.

"If I'm being honest, I don't know who your dad is" Rebecca admitted "I made a lot of bad decisions back then"

"Can't I take a test to see?" Bexley asked and Rebecca knew this was something her daughter wanted and technically had the right to know

"If you really want to know, I can schedule a DNA test and we can see" Rebecca said

3 days later, Rebecca brought Bexley into the doctors office for a blood test to find out who her father was. The little girl was brave, until it came to needles.

Rebecca tried to tell her to just look away and ever offered to get blood drawn too but Bexley wasn't having it.

"We don't have to do this if you don't want to" Rebecca said and she shook her head

"I want to" Bexley said "I'm scared"

"Hey.. Colby is with Josh for a few days and I'm sure he wouldn't mind coming down here for a few to sit with you while you do this. Do you want me to call and ask him?" Rebecca offered and her daughter nodded

"Can I ask him?" She asked sweetly "he can't tell me no" she said and Rebecca laughed, it was true though.. Colby had a soft spot for Bexley, he just could not tell her no for anything

Colby agreed to come and sit with her while she did this. The nurse was very understanding and was willing to wait the 30 extra minutes before Colby got there.

When Colby came in, Rebecca couldn't help but hide her reddening face. The two hadn't spoke since their encounter last week.

"She wanted you to sit with her while they drew the blood, she doesn't exactly like needles" Rebecca explained

"And I'm happy to do so.. beats sitting in my hotel room doing nothing" Colby smiled down and the little girl holding his hand

As Bexley sat on Colby's lap, it was obvious to Rebecca that the two had a special bond. He had been so supportive the past 6 years, he was even there when she was born. Seeing the two interact with each other was just like watching a father and daughter interact. Even Rebecca could see that he loved the little girl like she was his own.

"All done sweetie" the nurse said as she put a bandaid on Bexley's arm

She then turned to Rebecca "I'll send this to the lab and you should get the results in the mail tomorrow or in a few days" she said

"Thank you" Rebecca replied

"And May I add that he" she said pointing to Colby "is great with her, I'd keep him around if I was you"

Rebecca smiled but didn't tell her that they weren't together, that he was just her best friend, for some reason.. she wanted to keep him around. Not just as her best friend, maybe more.

"Can I stay with Colby for the rest of the day?" Bexley asked as she ran up to Rebecca

"How about we all spend the day together" Colby suggested "we could go get something to eat then do whatever"

"Can we please?" Bexley practically begged her mom and Rebecca just couldn't tell her no

"I guess we could" Rebecca said

They were sitting at Bexley's favorite place to eat, a local vegetarian place that had all her favorite foods. Then Rebecca got a phone call.

"I'm going to take this" she said and stepped outside

When she answered, she heard the voice of the nurse from earlier...

"Ms. Quin, we have the results of your daughters DNA test a little sooner than expected, we could tell you over the phone now or we could mail them" the nurse said

"You can go ahead and tell me now, but I would like a copy of the results too if that's not a problem" Rebecca said

"That's not a problem at all!" The nurse said and she heard a few buttons being clicked "they should be with you tomorrow.. now for the results, according to the blood test.. she is a nearly 100% match to Colby Lopez"

When Rebecca heard the name, she almost dropped her phone. She was speechless..

But then she put two and two together and it made sense. Rebecca met Colby, they slept with each other.. then boom a month later she was pregnant. Sure she'd slept with other guys after.. but it just happened to be Colby who got her pregnant.

This was about to be one interesting conversation...
