A flash of forked lightening and a great clack of thunder came upon each other; a bold of lightening tore across the sky and a peel of thunder followed. The house was huge, almost like the size of a palace which belongs to probably the most richest family in the city. It was dark inside, the lights couldn't be switched on; it was part of the tradition though, except there were few candles placed almost to every part of the house.

Daniel, a boy of 7 years old, grabbed the hand of his little brother Alex who was 2 years younger than him and ran down the corridor of the grand house:

"Alex, this way!" he said while holding the lantern in his left hand.

Behind them came Charles, a newly married groom who was panting while trudging in the dark. He was grieving in pain.

"Come on!" he scurried into the corridor when he took a left turn and opened the door. He lead his little brother to the cupboard when he said:

"Get it and don't come out"

Alex paid heed to his words when he said:

"Daniel, I'm scared.."

"Keep the lantern" and he handed it over to him when he closed the door.

Daniel gulped and stared at his surroundings when out of the blue a hand grapped him by the shoulder. He gasped and screamed:

"Shhh" instructed Charles with a lot of difficulty. He held daniel by his two hands:

"Daniel, please. They're trying to kill me. Please help me" Charles placed his hand on his stomach which was endlessly bleeding.

"Daniel please.." he pleaded.

Daniel's eyes grew bigger when he stared at Charles' stomach. He diverted his gaze back to Charles face.

"He's in here!" he shouted.

"No no no no oh god no!" cried charles as he tried to escape from the back when his feet stopped. They reached him. Charles then turn in front only to find the other family members who were wearing those creepy masks.

"No Charles! Stop!" the newly bride, helene, cried as they pulled her by the two hands.

"Helene!" he stared at her with tears in his eyes.

"No please! Stop it! Please!!" cried helene as she watched one of her family member having a crossbow pointed at Charles.

"No please don't!"

Multiple arrows hit Charles right to his chest and as he fell down and suffered, helene kept screaming:

"NO NO NO!!!"

They rushed to Charles and dragged him by his arms:

"You don't have to do this! Please stop!" screamed a helpless helene behind while Charles was groaning in pain.

Daniel was frezzed near the cupboard when a woman walked towards him. She removed her mask, kneeled and said:

"Daniel, I'm so proud of you"

Daniel stared at his mother then his gaze went back to the groom who was shouting:

"Please listen to me! You don't have to do this! Helene! Please talk to them! please!" he struggled with them when they release helene and the latter stood with tears flowing down her cheeks:

"Helene! Helene!" Charles kept screaming.

They dragged him into the secret room while helene took a deep breath and wipe her tears. She then entered the room with the other family members.

"Please! Please! no!" Charles begged for his life. As they began the ritual, Charles couldn't help but kept shouting and grieving.

"Please no please! No no NOOOO"" the entire room was filled with the defeaning screams of Charles when it was suddenly interrupted as the mother of daniel closed the door behind which had an old painting of words read as:

"Le Domas"

An uncomfortable silence was then replaced in the noisy atmosphere and anyone who would be there and witnessed such a scene could already come up with the simplest conclusion that:

Charles is dead.
